This is a location choice as it's a great central starting point Park Street is good for a busy vibe with a range of restaurants. Reception is positive lead by the fantastic Parvin and the cook Morat is a Gent. Large rooms on 5 floor. You get to see the 1920 style building. All good G

Great location. Tidy room. When we needed another night in Kolkata they were able to accommodate us and we transferred rooms immediately meaning we could enjoy the day without our bags.

The hotel doesn't look anything like the pictures posted. It's a run-down hotel with very bad rooms. The breakfast involves only bread and jam, given up on request. The rooms weren't clean either. The only advantage is its walkable distance to the US biometrics office - good for visa appointments.

This property is in Park street which is old city of Kolkata. Area around property is too noisy and dirty every where people and people no place even to walk. People just throw garbage everywhere and keep splitting everywhere no place to walk without splits. How people don’t have common sense they clean their faces but makes streets dirty. Regarding property it was old houses that converted in hotel, whole staff was very good they can cook breakfast and dinner on demands, make tea and coffee. Staff was honest. There is common area where you can dine in, inside room it was clean but bed sheets and towels was old and tear. Rest hot water was available. To be honest my family didn’t like Kolkata due to people everywhere spitting and throwing garbage and city is very very dirty and too much smoke. We visited Kalimatta temple where the Pandits made this place as business they forced us to buy their services else not allowed to enter temple these Pandits said it’s thier temple and go away if you don’t pay so we said sorry and return without going inside temple. Taxi drivers are good and never charged anything extra. In sort there are many places to visit on earth but don’t go Kolkata again or never recommended this place to visit as tourists.

Be careful what you book! This hotel is actually composed of 6 properties spread throughout the city. The pictures you are seeing online are from only one property. Our hotel was very, very different from the pics we saw. The manager herself directly admits as much. We let the hotel know we would be arriving after midnight as our flight was delayed. They felt it would be a good idea to put us in a room exactly two feet from the reception desk (see pic)! As expected, we could hear the phone ringing well past 2 am and by 7 am, people were checking out, being loud, yelling at each other (if you live in India, you know), making breakfast etc. Bottom line: room was subpar (see pics), we were charged way too much and we were forced to move hotels on our own time and money. After more than two hours of negotiations with the hotel, we were finally granted a new hotel. Honestly, I think the staff here and even the manager are decent people but just think only with money on the brain, no real concern for patrons. Customer care is not the priority. They had our room booked out and people waiting in reception for it before we even left the hotel. End note: the manager put us in their Aster Penthouse which was not quite as conveniently located but was a much nicer property. We slept well the second night and are appreciative of that effort of goodwill.
