I booked into this hotel because I was attending a conference in Mumbai and the hotel of my first choice was booked out. "The Caliph" was on the conference's list hotels nearby, I took this to be an endorsement and (unfortunately) booked without further looking into this place. Upon arrival it became clear to me that this hotel is not only sub-standard, but positively run-down. At first, management made a mistake and out my into a "standard" room (disappointing enough), but transferred me into a "suite" after less than 10 minutes. Unfortunately, the "suite" wasn't much better than the room I initially saw. There were cables hanging out of unfinished walls, only about half the power-plugs in the (many) rooms were functional and the general level of cleanliness was terrible. The bedsheets had many stains on them and the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned properly in years. I only had a look at the breakfast "buffet" once and then decided to eat elsewhere. If I hadn't been so desperately in need of sleep after a long flight, I would have looked for a new hotel straight away.

Stayed overnight. Satisfactory overall. Great front desk. Fuss free check in & check out. Check out time at 12.00 but allowed to stay till 13.30. No control on AC in room. No tea/coffee kit in room. Breakfast is complimentary but the restaurant staff initially said it is chargeable but when insisted they verified and agreed. The quality is just okay.

This is not a hotel that I would book again. The facility was under construction. Some hotels can manage construction and make guests comfortable. This is not one of them. We had a cup of coffee at the restauirant and decided not to go back for any meals.

Absolutely disgusted by this hotel experience. I travel almost every week for business and I must have stayed in over 200 hotels in the last 10 years. This one was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Actually I didn't stay for more than 3 hours even if I had booked for 2 nights. As soon as I saw the room I started making arrangements to get out of that room asap! Everything advertised is just not true. The room was advertised as a 35 sq meters, Free WiFi, 32-inch LCD TV with premium channels, Refrigerator, minibar (stocked with some free items), and coffee/tea maker, Select Comfort bed with premium bedding and a Private bathroom with a deep soaking bathtub. INSTEAD I got a 15sq meter filthy room with dirty linen, no sign of Refrigerator, minibar, 32-inch LCD or bathtub, an air condition system probably 20 years old that was so filthy we couldn't dare to touch it and rotten furniture which looked not only dirty but ready to fall apart. It goes with out saying that we didn't even attempt to lie down in the bed and sleep. I cant understand how hotels like that are still advertised via hotels.com. I am filing a full complain to get my money back and I want to make sure that this hotel is not allowed to take people's money for a service that falsely advertise that they offer.

This hotel was recommended to stay at because it was near IIT. DO NOT stay at this hotel. I'm not sure why it has 3 out 5 stars. First, the rooms are terrible, really dirty, beds are uncomfortable, the door looks like someone tried to break in, plug in didn't work, lights were out. More importantly there was NO HOT WATER. We let it run for 30 minutes and still got none. The air conditioning didn't work. When we asked for a rollaway (which I had arranged in advance and it was not set up), they brought a 2 inch foam mat and laid it on the ground! The hotel staff wasn't very friendly. I actually only stayed in this hotel 1 night and had to move because I just felt unsafe and with no hot water it just wasn't working. It was kind of a pain to get out of because I had booked through Expedia (who was very nice) but the hotel was annoyed.

In bathroom there was no washbasin but a steel sink. Very dirty place and very bad food. Staff are very rude to even senior citizens. It's rating is wrong it should be -5 out of 5. Will never visit again to this hotel again.

Being from out of country, location, cleanliness for the right price is important. Although it is a bit tricky to spot the hotel, location is good. Another tricky aspect is the entrance, wish the management give a better description of accessing the hotel and definitely how to enter. There is no sign anywhere saying the hotel location. 5 minutes to walking towards powai lake. Room is adequate, although everything is not what it looks like in the photos. Hot water...not available if you wake up by 5am. Staff is excellent, despite having to call a couple of times for the missing towels in the room. Breakfast is very good. Did appreciate the staff holding my bags in storage for my late evening departure. Will be helpful to provide some cups or glasses in the room. Will definitely go back.
