Although I was initially surprised by the secluded location, I was quickly amazed once I entered the lobby and my room. The service was outstanding, the room very spacious, the food of excellent quality, and the staff’s friendliness and attentiveness made my stay truly memorable.

You get your own villa which has its own pool, bathroom with a tub, a mini kitchen area with a cooker and a fridge and we also got breakfast included in our stay. The place itself is located in the nice and quiet area of Canggu which is around 30 mins by car from the airport and has a lot of Western-style restaurants, boutique stores and open, green spaces. Aradhana Villas is also about 2 mins away by scooter or car to Berawa Beach. The villa feels very reclusive, despite being in a group with around 10 other villas, and at night it's quite quiet and peaceful. You enter through a small lobby, behind which is a long passageway populated with greenery and flowers and along which all of the entrances to the villas lie. At the entrance to your villa there will be a beautifully ornate, Balinese-style door which can be locked from the inside and behind this is where your private area begins. The pool is open-air so you can swim under the stars. There will be a lot of greenery and flowers everywhere around the villa and the bathroom is partially outdoors. The kitchen is complete with silverware, cookware, tea and coffee, a stove and a fridge. If you get breakfast included, they'll ask you to order it the night before from their menu and you can choose what time you want it to arrive in the morning. The breakfast is not spectacular, but it is okay in terms of portion size and variety. There are some Western-style things available like pancakes and French toast as well as Indonesian dishes like nasi goreng and mie goreng. Overall, the place is very well-kept, clean and in a good location with nice, friendly staff and a sense of privacy when you stay there.

More about hotels in Canggu

Canggu blends easygoing culture with some serious café game. Set just north of Seminyak’s flashier streets, it’s a stretch of coast where rice paddies back onto beach clubs and scooter rides end at sunset bars.

Visitors roll in for mellow breaks, streets lined with surf shops, and a work-anywhere vibe that’s made it a global hub for digital nomads. Spend your mornings paddling out at Batu Bolong Beach, rummage for handmade finds at Love Anchor market, or scooter out to Tanah Lot Temple to watch the tides roll in.

Whether you’re here for the beaches, the brunches, or the breezy Bali pace, Canggu lines it all up — no fuss, just the good stuff.

Where to stay in Canggu

  • Batu Bolong: Cafés, co-working hubs, tattoo shops — Batu Bolong is the centre of town. Stay here if you want to catch waves, sip, snack and repeat, all without leaving the strip.
  • Berawa: Bali’s answer to mixing in barefoot brunching and big beach clubs. Villas back onto rice fields, Finns pumps till the morning roosters crow, and work-friendly cafés make it a sweet spot for working crews and digital creatives.
  • Echo Beach: Wild surf, smoky seafood grills, and tide pools for days. The black-sanded Echo Beach feels a little rougher, a little realer. It’s perfect for surfers, early risers, and anyone who likes a sea-salted start.
  • Pererenan: Art cafés, yoga shalas, and peaceful rice fields that still stretch wide. Stay in Pererenan if slow mornings, local warungs, and quiet nights sound more your speed than the club beat tempo.

How much is Canggu accommodation?

Canggu’s prices can stretch as wide as its rice fields. Generally, prices here are a bit higher than Kuta, but it’s also a very different kind of place. Prices climb during the busy months (July–August and Christmas–New Year), but you’ll catch better deals in May, October, and the shoulder seasons in between. No matter if you’re counting coins or splashing out, there’s a bed with your name on it.

  • Backpackers and hostels: From $10 per night. Social surf hostels kick off around a tenner. Great if you're here for early morning paddles, late-night satays and wallet-friendly fun.
  • Apartments and villas: From $40 per night. Self-contained pads with kitchenettes and scooter parking are ideal for longer stays, digital nomads or mates on tour.
  • Mid-range hotels: From $70 per night. Beachy boutiques with a pool downstairs and a café out front are easy if you want comfort without the splurge.
  • Luxury villas and resorts: From $200 per night. Private pools, garden showers, and room to sprawl, with top-end spots clearing $500 and up. Perfect for big holidays, honeymoons, or just because you can.

Top-rated hotels in Canggu

  • Desa Hay Canggu: A pocket of private villas hidden behind Pererenan’s cafés and warungs. Each villa has its own plunge pool, open-air bath, and plenty of space to stretch out after a day on the beach. The vibe’s easy, leafy, and set up for long, lazy mornings with nowhere to be but the pool.
  • Swarga Suites Bali Berawa: Right on Berawa Beach, Swarga Suites nails the sweet spot between laidback and a little bit luxe. Big suites with balconies overlook the ocean or the huge infinity pool, and you’re only a quick wander from Finns Beach Club and Berawa’s cafés. Good if you want a base that’s relaxed but close to the action.
  • The Slow Canggu: Part hotel, part gallery, and fully committed to making you linger longer than you planned. There are rooms filled with a curated art selection, there’s a vinyl soundtrack on loop, and the in-house restaurant is worth locking in a long lunch or two. Best if you want to sink into Canggu’s slower pace without giving up a good flat white.
  • COMO Uma Canggu: If you’re chasing waves in the morning and spa sessions in the afternoon, COMO Uma has you covered. The suites and residences are all clean lines and bright spaces, with a wellness centre and yoga classes ready when you need a breather and creative workshops. Set right near Echo Beach, it’s a good pick if you want a bit of both worlds.
  • ASTON Canggu Beach Resort: Rooftop pool, cold drinks, and Batu Bolong Beach just down the road. ASTON Canggu keeps it easy with comfy rooms, a lively rooftop bar, and a front-row seat to Canggu’s surfy strip. Great for those who want to swim, sip, and stroll without needing to jump on a scooter every five minutes.

Tips for finding the perfect accommodation in Canggu

  • Think about how you want to move: Canggu sprawls. Stay near Batu Bolong or Berawa if you want to walk — inland villas often mean scooters or sweaty hikes.
  • Time your booking with the crowds in mind: July, August and Christmas get packed. May, June or October bring cheaper stays, cooler nights and less traffic clogging up the beach runs.
  • Use Traveloka’s filters like a legend: Nail your search fast with Traveloka’s filters. Look for pools, parking, extended stay deals or adults-only villas if you want a quieter scene.
  • Choose your area by your daily vibe: Batu Bolong’s for beach runs and brunches. Pererenan’s for slow days and rice fields. Echo Beach strikes the middle: surfy, a little quieter, black sand mornings.
  • Don’t underestimate Canggu traffic: It might look like a sleepy town, but Canggu’s traffic jams are no joke. A 2km scooter ride can take 30 minutes in peak times. Book near the places you actually want to eat, swim, or sip.
