More about hotels in Seririt
Seririt, Bali's Quiet North Coast Trading Town
Seririt sits on Bali's north coast in the Buleleng regency, about 10 to 15 minutes' drive west of Lovina and roughly two to three hours by road from Ngurah Rai International Airport in the south. It isn't a resort town. Seririt built its reputation as a trading port long before Singaraja grew into the region's main hub, and today it still functions as a working market town rather than a headline holiday destination. If you're after beach clubs and sunset bars, Lovina and the coast further west cover that better. What Seririt does well is serve as a practical, low-cost base for exploring the surrounding countryside.
What's Around Seririt
The appeal of staying in Seririt is largely about what's within reach, not what's in town. Gitgit Waterfall, one of the better known waterfalls in north Bali, is a scenic drive up into the hills to the east, and the same route continues on to the Twin Lakes at Tamblingan and Buyan if you want a full day in the highlands. Banjar Hot Springs, with its terraced pools and carved stone spouts, is a short drive south west of town and makes an easy half day trip. West along the coast past Seririt you'll find quieter black sand beaches and fishing villages, a contrast to the busier stretches further south on the island.
In town itself, Seririt's night market is the main point of local colour, a good spot to try Balinese street food and see the everyday rhythm of a north Bali market town rather than a tourist strip.
Where to Stay in Seririt
Accommodation directly in Seririt is limited and skews budget, which suits its role as a stopover rather than a stay a week destination. A few real options currently bookable in town: Hotel Singasari Seririt is a simple 36 room budget hotel on Jalan Gajah Mada near the town market, geared toward travellers who just need a clean, affordable room for a night or two. Puri Surya Hotel, on Jalan Diponegoro, is a similarly no frills guesthouse with 24 hour front desk service. Liberta Home Lovina, Bali (listed under its earlier name, Liberta Home Seririt Bali) sits on Jalan Udayana II and offers similarly budget friendly rooms. Expect rates in the AU$15 to AU$30 a night range at these properties. This is functional accommodation rather than a resort experience. If you want more choice in restaurants, spas, and higher end stays, basing yourself in nearby Lovina and day tripping into Seririt and the hills behind it is the more comfortable option.
Good to Know Before You Go
Public transport around Seririt is limited, so a hired car, scooter, or driver is the practical way to get around, both in town and out to the waterfalls and hot springs. The roads up into the hills are more pleasant outside the heaviest rains, roughly April to October. Treat Seririt as a base for a night or two while you explore north Bali's countryside, rather than the main event of your trip.
