We got got the garden view villa. It is nice but not as big and spacious as the pool view. We had trouble accessing the Wi-Fi in our room even though it worked fine anyplace around the hotel , also because we got the garden view we were not entitled to any benefits such as getting 15% discount on ordering food and beverage at the pool and also we got to pay extra to get room service in our room even though our friends in the pool view villas didn’t have to. They charged us when we used the mini bar in our room , so apparently the garden view rooms don’t have the same treatment and amenities as the pool view ones

Great hotel, easy to get around Ubud from Kamadalu using Grab bikes and rides. Staff were great, excellent service. Nice and quiet when we went. There were lots of bugs around, as expected for this region.

I would highly recommend Kamandalu. I stayed here 14 years ago & was so impressed that I purposely chose to come back. The staff are top notch...so attentive to your every need & it shows in all the details. Our villa was like a little bit of paradise in this tropical setting. The restaurant on site was wonderful & offered delicious choices with attentive staff. Our room featured
a deluxe bathroom complete with an indoor shower and an outdoor shower with a separate tub. We had our own outdoor daybed on a private patio. The view over the thatched roofs was delightful! I don't travel to this part of the world often, but Kamandalu would be my choice everytime! Just top notch!

This resort was beautiful. I just think that the services offered at the resort was a bit overpriced compared to other resorts in Bali offering the same service. I loved the property and the staff was very helpful. I enjoyed my stay and just recommend that they review pricing for services offered. I highly recommend, it's very clean and very comfortable. Staff at breakfast went out their way to make sure I was happy and didn't need anything. I do think they could offer more options for breakfast though.

There is only one shower for two rooms the second shower was outdoor. We requested to change the room but they said no room was available but the hotel was pretty much empty. Staff came in to spray for mosquitoes while we were at dinner. When we came back my husband discovered that his short on the bed got stolen. After we left Bali, I checked my money pouch that I left in the safe box, the money was gone but our passports were still there. I lost all my cash. It was my fault for not checking before leaving. I didn’t think staff member would open the safe box to steal cash. I guess I was so wrong. Lesson learned for me.

This resort was absolutely amazing. The garden villa with pool was unbelievable. The staff really took pride in making sure all request was made. Everyone from the front desk to security was kind, welcoming and pleasant. Absolutely would stay here again.

Was looking forward to this stay for over 5 years! Totally devastated by the reality. Don’t be fooled like I was by the lovely instagram posts! The hotel is very tired and none of the selling points are even open! 2/3 of the hotel is closed and under renovation and the remaining 1/3 is very worn and tired. The lagoon and the Forrest swing were both closed as part of the renovation. I wasn’t made aware of this at the time of booking!
Pool was cold and pretty dirty. The pool ladder was basically falling off, felt like it might go every time I got in and out the pool and I’m very light. Staff felt like they weren’t that interested. They don’t even bother to put pool towels or cushions out, we had to ask. Reception staff were lovely but it definitely wasn’t a 5 star experience. It should be closed for the renovation! It felt like it was running on bare minimum.
Very bad accessibility for those with children or disabilities. Lots of stairs, no lifts!
About the only thing going for it was the location! Very disappointed indeed! A warning to look elsewhere!!

Beautiful ground with friendly staffs. The property is very clean and the surrounding is tranquility with the view. food is really good for breakfast and dinner. We like staying at our bungalow with private pool and out door cabana with daybed. Complimentary drinks and canapés in the evening. Free yoga in the morning on the canyon above the river. I would definitely stay there again. If you need a place to relax and unwind, this is the place. It’s not far from the village center of Ubud.
