This was an amazing location with beautiful scenery. The staff were so sweet and welcoming, the food at the restaurant was great, the spa service was so relaxing. Being able to trek to the local waterfalls right out your door was also a huge bonus. If you are looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating stay, book here! Just make sure to pack your bug spray!

Puri Lumbung has a gorgeous location high in the mountains with stunning views and good hikes to waterfalls. The property is beautifully landscaped. It hosted live traditional music during the dinner hour and one excellent dance performance while we were there. The food in he restaurant is very good. The staff are friendly and went out of their way to ensure that we had an enjoyable and comfortable stay.

We had a beautiful view of the valley and sunsets. A waterfall is right next to the room and was loud but soothing. The path to the waterfalls starts from the hotel. It is confusing at first but then becomes clear. The map is pretty bad, especially around the village.

We stayed at #23 cottage overlooking the mountains and rice fields. Gardens well maintained. Also got massage done from there 24NZD an hour.
No intercom, bed squeaks when moving, dogs barking at night, breakfast was ok.
Overall a nice hotel to stay for couple of nights.

We stayed for 2 nights in cottage 34 which had the most amazing view. The cottage itself was neat and tidy, with daily housekeeping and a restaurant near by with very good food. Found out by random chance that David Bowie stayed here as well! Very helpful arranging transport for us and going to the farmacy. Saw some traditional dancing and cake making, had a massage. Could not have asked for more. Woul definitely recommend, you'll get the real Bali experience here.

Positives: The gorgeous, lush, well-maintained property grounds, the breathtaking views, the traditional Balinese cottages set amongst rice terraces, the daily activities offered by the property (we enjoyed a free Balinese dance performance one night!) the delicious restaurant, the convenient location (just outside the village of Munduk with easy access to walking trails that lead to waterfalls, etc.), the ever-smiling, friendly and helpful staff... basically the entire ambiance of the place is wonderful and unique.
Negatives: Since you are living close to nature in places constructed with natural materials you may find a few ants or other tiny insects in your room. It didn't bother us at all as all of the other positives FAR outweighed a few ants crawling around. Just an FYI if that type of thing really bothers you.
Overall, it was a super beautiful, unique location that we absolutely loved. Highly recommended!!

Our first stay 4 years ago was really special however sadly disappointed this time. Although the country side was as beautiful as ever it was Expensive, and not the 2 bed cottage I booked through Expedia. Instead we got a small 1 bed with an extra bed squeezed in - and reception staff wouldn’t move us and said they would charge for that extra bed. I couldn’t be bothered arguing as we were only staying the one night. Our waiter was untrained and rude. This time Puri Lumbung lacked in professionalism and you didn’t clearly communicate what we had paid for!!

After 8 days in Ubud dodging traffic and noise, the escape to Munduk and the Puri Lumbung Cottages was welcome. Lovely views over rice fields to distant mountains and the sea. Cottage was basic, but comfortable. Downstairs bathroom added to a reconfigured rice storage shed. No a/c, but higher elevation meant cooler temperatures. Staff was helpful. Good hikes and other excursion options.

This is a charming hotel with breathtaking views from the rooms. Our villa (#33) had the best view. The landscaping around the hotel and around every villa is done lovingly and with attention to detail - ponds with lotus flowers and koi fish, little waterfalls, flowery bushes, lush green rice paddies....

It really surprised me. The whole space is a beautiful village of cottages having great mountain view. When you sat on the balcony it's really relax. Staffs were very friendly. Although there was no TV in room, hotel and staffs arranged some activities. Won't feel boring at all.
