We booked a 2-night stay at this hotel to visit Venice with our two boys. The front desk person was very helpful in giving information on how to get to Venice, and made recommendations in town for restaurants. She also spoke very good English. The hotel location is great, as there is a bus stop just around the corner. You can purchase a ticket for the bus at the store next door. The cost is 1.5 E per person, cash only. Once at Venice, you can purchase day passes and use a credit card to pay. You can get discounts for children once on the island, where as the store next door can only sell standard (full price) passes, and requires cash only. The hotel has a large balcony which didn't seem to get much use when we were there... but it was a nice place to hang out. The breakfast buffet in the morning runs for 3 hrs, and has a number of fresh pastry items, as well as other things you might expect like yogurt, cereal, etc. There was a coffee machine that made a variety of hot beverages as well. It was one of the better breakfast setups that we had during our stay in Italy. Bed and pillows were a bit firm, and the WiFi seemed a bit slow, but other than that, we had a great two night stay.

In our first room we found an ant's nest underneath the mattress. In our second room we found Cockroaches. Then there is no breakfast at all, a massive amount of pigeons faeces on the terrace, No fridge in the whole building, The bathrooms smelled awful and of urine and poo.

I stayed for two nights last week. They were very kind at the reception about my late check in and the room was clean. There was plenty of towels in the bathroom, however no toilet paper the first night (found a new roll in the room when I came back the next day). The AC worked the first night and in the morning but the next evening it wouldn’t turn on and unfortunately even though I told the reception, no one came to have a look at it and I was told to open the windows. Since the room was on the balcony level I couldn’t open the windows to get some air in as people on the balcony were able to see into the room (I realised this when I made eye contact with someone in the mirror the first morning when get ready - awkward). So unless you want people to have a full view of what you’re doing, you can’t open the windows. Quite unfortunate since it was around 30 degrees. Other than that, it’s a good budget friendly place, about 30-40 minutes away from Venice on the bus, close to cafes, restaurant and shops, in a nice area. Oh and the bed wasn’t exactly comfortable, could feel the springs dig into my back all night so I probably wouldn’t want to stay for more than 2-3 nights

The hotel room had an awful stench of urine. The bathroom was unbearable due to the smell. The shower was broken, we reported it and were told we had to deal with it. The carpets were dirty. It was awful. I would not recommend staying here at all. In my opinion the hotel should be closed down and refurbished.

The staff don’t speak English or even Italian. Really bad odor in room and bathroom, dirty , moldy, horrible beds and sheets. The hotel is rated “3 stars” I don’t know how, IT IS PROBABLEY ONLY A 1/4 OF A STAR. Avoid this hotel, you will loose your money. WE RENT IT THROUGH ORBITZ, BUT LAST 2 hours there and leave. It was a waste of time and money.

Hotel location is great but hotel itself is run down, very outdated, in need of TLC (many defects), etc. My first impression when I opened the door was how dodgy it looked. If you can go past it, it may not be that bad, I certainly managed to sleep well, and it still felt clean overall. Also for some strange reason I could not use my bank cards inthis hotel whereas I could use it elsewhere? In short great value if you can bear the state of the hotel!

This was the worst hotel I have ever been in my life. No housekeeping, no TV, no air conditioning. Staff were awful. The noise was enormous. They lied about everything. There’s no mall attached, and they did not say that there is a bar underneath the hotel. The noise was on believable. I can’t believe they’re even on Hotels.com. Everything they said on the website for Hotels.com was a lie. I will never recommend them they’re awful!!

This “hotel” is the worst place I have ever been to: smelly, dirty room, mold everywhere, broken shower door, sink, ants in the bathroom, human hair in the shower, trash in the drawer by the bed, .. lady at the check-in didnt speak english, she knew maybe 5 english words, also she could not find my reservation … The smell because of the mold in the room was so bad we had to sleep with open window (in february!), overall really bad experience.

The staff were kind and friendly. But the room and its facility were terrible, unbelievable low quality, dirty, full of damaged. Their blanket was thin and uncomfortable and dirty. The sink was clogged. warm water flow was good and very hot, but almost no cold water, which make the water connection unuseable. the heating in checked in was fine, but in the evening it gets off and we had no heating till check out, then we slept in freezing room in Venice winter. this hotel makes our new year exoerience in lovly Venice, terrible.

The rooms where we stayed were totally different to what you see on pictures. The floor was too dirty, the bath didn’t work properly and the beds didn’t seem too much clean. People who worked there were fine, but we had a very bad experience with hotel itself!

Starting with Check in- we booked family room with 5 beds, and got a normal room with double bed and dorms bed, overall for 4 instead of 5 persons. The clerk at the front desk was able to solve it eventually. Hotel is old and not in good condition. Smell is not good, especially in the room. Old furniture and bad maintenance of the rooms. Our room was having a torn curtain and also in the bath: the shower was missing 1 door, the shower flooded since the pipes were probably blocked, Gothelf main light was missing bulbs so it did not work, the light over the mirror had 1 of 2 damaged light.

Hotel Kappa was nice until the morning of checkout. The guy behind the counter with the beard really didn't want to call me a taxi to the airport. Rather than him just calling, he basically told me to call and then scrambled to find the phone number for me (which fortunately went through). Other than that last lack of hospitality, the place was fine for the price.

This hotel was not at all what I expected. A place that welcomes visitor can be a simple place but clean, specially during COVID. I asked to change rooms and each one was dirtier than the other. I left the next day. Would have left the same night but it was too late .

The bed was extremely uncomfortable, the shower door wouldn’t stay secure, the light in the bathroom burned out and we couldn’t get anyone to replace it, and the night attendant was fast asleep on a couch when we departed for an early flight hoping to get a cup of coffee.
