Hotel Piroscafo

A lovely property in the heart of Desenzano. Perfect location for old harbour and all ferries. Breakfast was good and the staff were all helpful and friendly.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Piroscafo. The hotel was a lovely location overlooking the harbour, the breakfast was great, the staff were very friendly. We done lots of sightseeing while stopping here. Would 100% go back again!

I stayed in a single for three nights and a double (with view of Porto Vecchio) for one night. Oddly, the single was a bigger room, albeit with a small bed. The narrow tub in the single room took dexterity to egress, not suitable if you have mobility issues. Although they have an elevator, reaching this room required taking the stairs from the 1st to the 2nd floor. Breakfast was satisfactory. The food choices and layout were not quite as good as other hotels I have stayed at. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. Only about 20% of the ceiling lights were on in the dining room, leaving the room a bit dark for my preference. Location was excellent and the price was very reasonable.

Lovely location which was right by the harbour. There was a good choice of bars and restaurants nearby. Friendly, helpful staff and everything was very clean. Tasty breakfast each morning. Would recommend.

This hotel was exactly what I needed for a solo stay of 5 nights. It was conveniently located on the beautiful old harbor, had friendly staff, provided a solo room and a free breakfast. The location was perfect for taking the ferry to other parts of Lake Garda and it was only a 10 minute walk to the train station for visiting Verona and other areas of Italy. The tourist office is a few steps away, which was great for getting maps and other helpful visitor information.

We had a great stay at Hotel Piroscafo. The location is excellent, close to shops and restaurants, and the rooms are quaint and very clean. Parking was easy with their arrangement at a nearby underground lot (about a 6-minute walk), with in-and-out privileges billed directly by the hotel—very convenient. The included breakfast was excellent, and all the staff were very kind and helpful. Overall, a wonderful experience and highly recommended.

Great location for a quick walk to the ferry to get anywhere on the lake. Staff is helpful and professional.

Great location. My room had a view of the small boat harbor. Good options for restaurants close by. About a 3 minute walk to the ferry ticket office.

The room was lovely although we requested a balcony room ( as we are smokers) this was dented us. There was a,smoking terrace but this was locked from 8pm to 8am, so at any other time, we had to go from the 2nd floor to the street area to smoke. The breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. On our last evening we asked the man at the front desk to book is a taxi to the station for 5.45am the following day . He said we were too late , but he'd try to message them. We said we seeded a confirmation às otherwise we'd have to leave 30 minutes earlier to walk up the steep hill with luggage. He said we should have booked it before 7pm, even though we'd spoken about this a few nights earlier. I asked why we weren't informed if this and his attitude became very challenging abd he said it wasn't his problem, it was ours. There was then some confusion over paying for our stay, and he slammed his paperwork down and was shouting and swearing in Italian, tho the swear words were unmistakable. At this point we had to walk outside to diffuse the situation. He did eventually book us a cab for the following morning, but failed to tell us we would have to pay double for a reservation, so we had to then pay 20 euros for a 4 minute ride . The rest of the staff were so friendly and heloful, and couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable

Breakfast was great, the location was perfect, and nice and clean.

We loved almost everything about this property. The location can’t be beat -we stayed in room 9 and the only criticism is that this very small (but has a great balcony). The shower is comically small. I understand other rooms have appropriate showers . Even with this issue we loved our stay in this hotel. Highly recommend
