We had a good stay but just be aware that the discription of the hotel does not match the property. There is no spa, no night club, no restaurant, etc. There is a kitchen and a dinning table that we could use. This is more like a big house that was transformed into a hotel. Beautiful ocean view, kind staff. It is located in a very small community about an hour away from Port Antonio. If you know what to expect, I think you will enjoy your stay. If you go by the description online you will likely be disappointed.

I was disappointed in my visit as the management team was not very understanding and what we paid for is not what we got. We paid for a stay of two adult and one child. We paid at the time of booking and when we we were checking out we were told we needed to pay another 25 a night for our daughter. The ammenities promised were not all included there’s was no ac in the room, the WiFi was very limited ( only near the office), the hot water was not readily available by a simple switch most but required a visit to the office to turn on the hot water, at which point you had to wait an hour for it to warm up. We did not get an all inclusive package with food and purchased breakfast one day which was a disaster. They told us we didn’t pay and wanted us to pay again! and the variety was scarce. It was very overpriced, three times what you would have paid at a high end restaurant. All in all the room was clean, the staff (outside of the management) was great, and the view and grounds were beautiful. It’s a shame that they wanted to take advantage of us and were only concerned about making more money rather than proving what was expected through their advertisement and booking and good customer service.

From the onset, their was a conflict with our expectation and the actual reality of the Standard room. No bedside tables or lamps, small TV screen about the size of a laptop screen and no AC. Though the standard room had a working air condition, I was told I would have to pay almost 50%(US20 per night) additional for what the room was booked for. I offered US15 per night but was denied the service by management. Moreover, I pre-ordered an omelet breakfast on the second morning of our stay, only to be told by the cook the next morning he was not told specifically what we ordered hence he prepared a Jamaican(more expensive) breakfast which he proceeded to serve us and we accepted to avoid going hungry. At check-out, we were told that we are being charged for the more expensive breakfast even though the cook prepared the wrong order. Additionally, we paid US12 for a breakfast that only had food, no fruit, juice or tea. Finally, we were charged US2 additional for a cup of coffee which we thought would have been apart of the breakfast. It was a horrible experience, the staff at the front desk tried to request that management consider some leniency but was denied by the Hotel management. Just to note, a staff got me a slightly large TV screen of the first night and bedside table on the second day on my request.

Need better blanket to cover with at night. I was okay with some of the issues but my wife was not happy. They tried to give us a colored towel to use because they run out of white towels. WiFi did not work properly, TV did not work and no one came to fix it even though it was brought to their attention. during checkout, no one was available to process payment. the security was the one who accepted the payment. the security guard was not trained to do payment processing and on top of it all, there was no receipt or receipt book available to show that the payment finalized. the receipt was written on a piece of paper. management was very poor. The very first night of residency, the bathmat was handed to my wife for a face towel. There was no warm water in the bathroom. we had to upgrade to a suite to get hot water. upon applying this attention to the secretary her comment was that is what we paid for. So to get a better room with hot water, an additional payment had to be processed to get hot water.

I will not stay here again as I have a first hand experience where the service industry is concerned and Villa Juanita did not deliver. They neither met nor exceeded my expectations. As far as I am concerned, they sell you a dream on the internet, only to disappoint you upon arrival. After a long drive, my hubby and I arrived feeling pretty excited as we were awed by the lovely pictures online. The first red light was speaking to the front desk agent, only to be told that my prepaid reservation was nowhere to be found! I showed them my confirmation and after a few phone calls they eventually discovered it. They did not have it as apparently they have internet issues (which also affects the guests). Don't forget to ask for your welcome drink as it won't be offered. You won't be missing out anyways. My reservation indicated a room with a balcony but they wanted to put us in a room without a balcony with one small window and we would have to share a bathroom that is out in the sitting area with others. I refused to take the room as it is not what I was expecting to get. A staff member worked his magic and got us a room with a balcony. However, it wasn't cleaned properly as we discovered sand in the corner of the shower while bathing, the cable was conveniently down and the WiFi as previously stated was a mess. Oh and did I mention my card was double charged? The staff is the saving grace for this place. Their service is a bit casual but it did compensate a bit for the troubles.

They started by charging $13 EXTRA on top of my paid booking for ELECTRICITY for ONE NIGHT. This unfortunately set the tone in my mind about this place. There was no AC or ceiling fan in the room. There was ONE working outlet in the bedroom, and the bathroom outlet DID NOT WORK. The room was hot and stuffy despite a nice outside breeze. The one window did not have a screen and the window is exposed to people passing in front the room. I thought I would have to sleep in the patio chair due to the heat in the room but I relented and asked the front desk for a fan which they provided. I wasn't told anything about the property when I arrived, so I didn't know about common areas in the hotel, and no information was given about getting dinner. I had to ask the security guard for a recommendation. There isn't much around and the local town is a bit of a shanty town. The small restaurant (2 tables) I was pointed to had good homemade food. The hotel itself sits up on a hill. There is an unpaved and very rough road that leads to the front gate. The views from the hotel of the ocean are beautiful. Finally, there's an old man that works there as a grounds keep that rides a mule around. He was friendly and even offered to wash my car. The WiFi was very spotty the day I arrived and didn't work after 9pm for the rest of my stay. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place but I am not sure if there are any other options if you're planning on visiting Reach Falls.

Couldn't find me at check in. But they did offer me a discounted rate to upgrade to a better room with a tiny tv. Wi-Fi doesn't work well at all. The cable works fine during the day but at night get ready to sleep cause no channels will be showing until about 11pm. Staff very nice and helpful. Food quality needs to be upgraded. Some days the food was ok other days it was terrible. My advice get the all inclusive. Not alot to do in the area but relax.

Was greeted with a freshly blended drink upon arrival. Receptionist was on top of our needs from the start. Kitchen and supporting staff was very attentive to our vegetarian/vegan diet. Took my parents here for two days to explore the natural beauties of this eastern Portland region. Superb ocean views. Well secured and very private. You can have dinner in the immediate area as optional. *only thing, hotel meals were pricy - they were willing to negotiate. Paul (employee) is priceless. I would stay there again. With a owner's touch!

This was one of the strangest hotel stays I have had. The hotel and views are beautiful. Apparently the owner is a micro-manager and forces the staff to be very pushy. We were constantly asked what our plans were for the day, apparently so the boss could get a cut of any money we spent. The food menu appeared to be prix fixe, but when the bill came, there were additional charges. Some of the food was good, but the price was out of line with local restaurants and resorts. Too little food for too much money. Particularly for breakfast, quantity and quality did not warrant the high price. We were shocked when we got a bill for meals on days that we were not even present. When we talked to the owner by phone, he was belligerent and would not hear our concerns. He managed to insult our English speaking (we are both highly educated native English speakers) and our religion (he asked three times how much we "paid" the minister who conducted our local wedding). Our room was not cleaned while we were there, and the queen-sized beds were actually full-sized. Can not recommend.

When I booked the room the website stated one cost but after booking the cost was more- over $30 more for the last 2 nights; booking was non refundable. At the time of booking the website indicated that I would have 2 Queen size beds, and air conditioning. When I arrived I was told that air conditioned rooms cost more, but they would let me stay in one for the same price, however, there was only 1 standard-size bed. T.V. reception was poor or non-existent, there were occasional problems with low water pressure, and dining area was not air conditioned. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, which made up for some of the inconveniences.

Villa Juanita is located in Hectors River Portland. I really enjoyed staying at this villa with my family. The rooms were very clean with nice personal touches and staff was pleasant and always available. Breakfast was the highlight of our stay as we were served authentic Jamaican cuisine. It very hard to picture having the best of both worlds just standing on the balcony where to the east you have the most gorgeous view of the beautiful ocean and to the west the most pictursque scene of the mountains. Best of all, you are only minutes awau from Reach Falls, Beautiful streetch of white sand beaches, Boston Jerk Center and Port Antonio. I would truly recommend this hotel to anyone vacationing in Portland Jamaica.
