Akasaka Granbell was the perfect location. Located right next to Akasaka-Mitsuke station which made getting pretty much anywhere a breeze. The staff were excellent, breakfast was perfect start to the day - cereal, pastries, toast, coffee and juice. Cold water was available at all times throughout the day. The shower was amazing. The location for restaurants of all kinds couldn’t have been better. We moved to Nihonbashi area for the second week for our stay due to no availability at Akasaka Granbell, the Akasaka area was far superior for our needs. When I return to Tokyo I will try to stay at the Akasaka Granbell, but if unable to book will definitely stay in area. Only downside was no dining room, breakfast was to be eaten in room, but no bother.

Stayed in this hotel for third time. Good location in the heart of Akasaka, with Irish Pub next to the hotel. Breakfast is very "light" but sufficient, however it has to be taken back to the room which is relatively small. Free coffee at the reception is a very nice and useful touch and the coffee itself is very good. Reception staff was very friendly, checking in and out was very quick. Would stay here again.

We previously stayed at the Granbell in 2019 and enjoyed our stay. Since then, the hotel seems to have gone way down in quality. The mold in the room was so bad we were unable to breath well and ended up checking out the same night and finding a new hotel. We had them try to clean the room and they just turned on the humidifier and sprayed some things to make it smell better. The hallways had dust, dirt and mold everywhere. We will not be staying in the Granbell again

Room was small and outdated. The carpets didn't seem like they were vacuumed properly. Dust, hair, and crumbs were all over the ground. The room was very small and there wasnt much place to put your stuff. It also smelled like smoke and it was poorly ventilated. The bathroom vent was caked in dust. Other than that, the hotel is in a great location and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was quiet at night.

The staff were really warm and welcoming. However, the rooms are tiny which is to be expected for Tokyo but I had two suitcases with nowhere to open them up except the bed. The shower walls seemed dirty, with streaks everywhere. The walls on the corridors were dark and dirty and it just felt a bit dingy. Despite being in a busy street, I couldn't hear anything was good.

I'm disappointed because I've never experienced such a big disconnect between the atmosphere conveyed by the photos and the reality. It's staggering how this hotel got in the Michelin guide. You'd expect a relatively spacious cozy room with a soft large bed. In reality the room feels just shabby, tiny as any budget hotel in Japan, narrow hard bed with 2 sides against walls, furniture literally falling apart, and borderline disgusting carpet. The only part that matched the expectations was the bathroom.

Very good location. Ideal to travel to Shibuya, Ginza and Shinjuku. Around the area has a 24 hours drug store and two more drug stores as well as 2 family mart and 7/11 nearby. You can walk to Akasaka station (8mins) or walk to Akasaka-Mistsuke station (2mins). There’s also a BIC Camera store located at the station, very convenient. The best thing about the hotel room is that the toilet is not cramp and the water pressure is amazing. Would definitely stay at this hotel again. Only down side is that it gets noisy at night went the bars around.
