APA Hotel Shimbashi Toranomon

Great location

Always like this place, 4th time. Unfortunately they've changed to an "advanced" check-in system that simply doesn't work properly and it took 4x as long to check in as usual. Completely unnecessary if they had stuck with the old way. Other than that, perfect.

My husband and I loved staying here. The only thing to be aware of is it is quite small so pack light or be really good at Tetris.

Location wise amazing, transport was perfect. Room size is to be expected in tokyo, but we didnt enjoy the lack of laundry.

I stayed in APA hotels in Shinjuku and Ueno - both excellent. It is a great chain for a 'middle class traveller'. I booked last minute for this one and now know why it had a vacancy! This particular one could do a better job in customer service....said politely. They gave me a regular small room (1 person), However, the bed was not elevated like in the other APA hotels - to store my suitcases etc. I asked to be moved, when possible, (people come and go everyday) and he/they bluntly said, "no, don't like it, go to another hotel!" Not a word of a lie. I had spent 6 previous nights in an APA hotel and was spending 4 nights there and they won't move me to the same size room, I only wanted an elevated bed! On top of it, one towel and one cup provided - paper cups to boot (the others had nice glass ones). The 'really friendly' 'general' manager stood at the front door at certain times and surveyed you and if you were staying there. When I first walked up to check in, he didn't say hello, he said, "Passport!!". Don't get the bfast either - also....less desirable. The Bfast at the Shinjuku APA was awesome!! I am a low maintenance traveller, so for this to be unfavourable, think twice before booking. My two cents. Ian from Canada

APA hotels have the most wonderful customer service!

Cannot express how grateful I am with this hotel and its staff! I left my airpods without even realizing it and they reached out to ME and gave me the news that I left them behind. So thankful and grateful of their honesty!

On a budget and need a place to stay with everything you need, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, and hospitable staff. This is the place. Great location too.

Besides being very small rooms at this hotel, it has everything you need

Quiet and convenient. Very small rooms. Onsite restaurant doesn’t operate most of the time other than breakfast buffet times.

Poor advertisement when it comes to laundry. There is a laundry establishment 2 blocks away where you can wash your own clothes. In the hotel, there is only a cleaning service with high prices to wash and dry clothes through the hotel. Otherwise nice friendly staff.

Property was very good. Clean, great location close to many sites, friendly staff. Only thing is the room got a bit hot and it didn’t look like there was a was to manually adjust it.

Property is well maintained and close to the station making it easier for commute.

I always say. APA have small rooms but they are affordable, clean and have good service - and they are nearly always in fantastic locations. This time the staff went beyond to help me call another APA for my next stay just to let them know I will be arriving late.

Very helpful during sending and receiving luggage

Small room, but typical of thses hotels in Tokyo. That being said, its was clean, comfortable, quiet, all the things you need in a room plus the wifi worked well.

It was a nicely maintained hotel in a nice neighborhood

Front desk staff were very accommodating thru my inability to converse in Japanese. Room and bath were very clean, deep bathtub was a bonus. No closet 2 wall pegs and four hangers provided. Very convenient to get around Tokyo, train station within walking distance. Very quiet outside, being a couple blocks away from the late night bar and restaurant scene. Sorry, I did not partake in the breakfast package. Would definitely stay there again!
