The hotel was very nice. There is a tv next to the jacuzzi tub, funky mood lighting, huge projector screen to watch movies, a stereo with a wide selection of music, etc. They definitely make it interesting for couples who are out to have a fun time. It`s very private so if you don`t want to even see the receptionist whom was very nice, they have a vending machine where you could pick your room and pay to stay. Food is delivered to your room 24/7 and they put it in a drop box so you don`t have to open the door. The only con was that it was hard to control all the gadgets in the room and we had a hard time turning off the default music that comes on so we turned the volume down all the way. Besides that everything was nice and will most likely come here again when we visit Kyoto.

The staff are the only thing here worth anything. The hotel is located past a toll bridge making this place hard to get to and expensive for those using a car or taxi, the room we booked was supposed to be a non smoking room, we were then told that there was no non smoking room available for us so the staff switched us between 2 or 3 hotels doing their best to accomidate us, they rushed a clean for us and it was very touching, even after all was said and done when we made the decision not to stay the staff was more concerned with us than anything else even going as far as offering to drive us to wherever we were going to stay for the night. This we declined as we didnt have a solid plan in mind but that level of care and dedication i wasnt expecting from really anyone. So thank you guys for trying your best.

Place was disgusting. Was full of dust. Was definitely not cleaned before giving us a room. There was evidence of male ejaculation on the side of the bed and the room had cockroaches. The water in the bathroom also doesn't stay hot. Super difficult to get around without a car . Would not go here they should take this off Expedia.

We stayed here because it was close to the immigration center and it's a good value. There was a projector in the room but the DVD player didn't work. Most of the movies available through the TV were dubbed in Japanese. You really need to know Japanese to work the menus. They make an effort to help foreigners, even offering translations of the air conditioning remote. The staff were generally helpful and friendly. There was no in-house food service like other love hotels but it was delivered from a local restaurant very quickly. You're own your own in the morning. They didn't even have coffee! Bring your own drinks and snacks as they provide a mini fridge and kettle. We loved the tub and the bathroom was more updated than other places we stayed. Spacious and comfy.

It's a love hotel, but not overbearing. If you come with your family, be careful of the TV. The porn channels are mixed with regular TV channels, so grab the remote before your kids do. The staff was so helpful and kind. I came with a car, but they were prepared to explain how to catch a bus to the local train station, to go to Kyoto, etc. It was very clean, and a relaxing place to stay.

As other people wrote, this is a "Love" hotel and every other TV channels have adult contents. We reserved a non-smoking room but there was ashtray. There was a slop machine in the room and it was noisy. I couldn't sleep because of the noise and tobacco smell. We need to clarify this hotel is for lovers only or something like that. The front desk person said they leave ashtray in every room. Then they should say there is no nonsmoking room here.

It's not really what I was looking for, it's far from Kyoto itself, and the neighborhood isn't really meant for tourists. It is right next to a beautiful lake though. Overall I really enjoyed my stay at the 'Love' hotel in Moriyama, Japan. Located by Lake Biwa in southern Japan, near Kyoto, you are on the edge of the rural countryside which for a sightseeing trip is great. The room was very clean and the service I received from hotel personnel was excellent. Mind you this hotel is not the place to bring a family along since the hotel caters to providing a good setting for couples who want time alone, so don't surprised you when you enter the room. The bathroom is Japanese style so you typically use the shower feature to bathe and use the tube to relax in, but I guess being a hotel you can bathe in the tub if you wanted. Though regarding the bathing area my only complaint is that while using the shower, every minute or so the water would become scolding hot and then ice cold which I ended up slightly scolding myself before getting the timing right. Again, overall I enjoyed my stay there.

The room is huge but is a difficult location for touring Kyoto because of the distance. This is a "love" hotel meant for couples so dont be surprised at the items available for purchase. Otherwise this is not your typical closet size room. The room could use better cleaning particularly of the walls and the cover under the matress was stained and gross. The woman who checked me in spoke English and was very helpful but after that evening none of the staff spoke any english. If you do stay here, take the Hibaya line from Kyoto station and get off at Katata. Then take bus 86 at stall 2. This is the tricky part bc the bus does not always have 86 out front. Check at stall 2 for 86's schedule and doubke check by asking if bus goes to Moriyama (which is location of hotel). Get off at 1st bus stop over the bridge. Beforw you go get a map from hotel for walk from here. Or it is about a $20 taxi fare from Katata Station.

The website did not mention that this was a love hotel at the time of booking. It was a bit of a surprise when we showed up at the hotel (3 guys, all straight) and saw that it had a disco ball, vibrating massager, and all the adult programming you could watch. The place was nice enough, and the staff was helpful (if a little surprised to see us), but be warned, it might not be what you're looking for. Unless what you're looking for is a love hotel. In that case, I highly recommend it.

Too far out in the suburbs. However very comfortable room & excellent service.
