The room was comfortable and the hotel was easily accessible on foot from the JR Fuji station. The nicest touch was that you are given a choice of bread, yogurt, and drink every night when you return.

The hotel was inexpensive and excellently located. Located next to the train station it was extremely easy to find - the units were clean and of a decent size. The staff was exceptionally friendly and was able to provide answers in English to our questions (though the place does seem to cater more to Japanese travelers it was a nice experience). Also provides what everyone wants in Fuji - excellent views of the mountain accessible.

The room was clean and actually big, but the bed was 50 years old and super uncomfortable with metal springs. ITS JAPAN A FUTON WOULDVE BEEN BETTER. I think the pillows had Styrofoam beads. The carpet even older and I got the feeling it was a "short short" stays The bath that I looked forward to was closed and just a literal hole in the floor The roof was disheveled and full of junk but at least I asked because i got great pix of Fuji The staff were ok and friendly but sent me to the train station for pix instead of the rooftop There is no breakfast and they never said there was a restaurant til I asked for ice. And how does a restaurant close at 8pm

The pictures are super old and the rating is surprising. The staff was sweet and did offer an upgrade after I spent my first night sneezing and coughing all night since there was a very strong smell and had to keep the windows open but their dusty blankets gave me an allergic reaction. The staff is nice but the facilities were old and not well maintained. Also the special bath they have on-site smells like onions and there are multiple chipped tiles. Overall I would not recommend this place and I suggest hotels.com look into independently verifying the pictures up on their website.

Great location and friendly staff. It's an older hotel but well kept Normal checkout times are 11am, I didn't pay attention here it's 10am. As a guy who has spent 180 days a year in hotels over the past 5 years, this was unexpected and cost me a $15 fine. Irritated me a bit.

Close to the jR station, but not much more to recommend it. Front desk clerks were bith off doing, who knows what when we arrived to checkin. I will say they were very friendly once they got there. Shoddy rooms, with cigarette burns on the carpet - if that was carpet, walls with peeling paint. Super small bathrooms, and just a general feeling that the providing photos were either taken in the far, too distant past, or in a staged room...

The entire hotel is run down poorly maintained and outrageously overpriced. The photos must be old. We had dirty, sticky carpets, peeling wallpaper, ripped upholstery on the chairs and the cockroach in the bathroom was the point where we decided we could not stay. We spoke to hotel staff who where unable to offer us a refund. We had booked for two night but only stayed one because of the condition of the hotel. I feel like hotels.com need to go check out this place it’s terrible! And certainly not worth AU$130 per night.

Traveling from Osaka to Tokyo, I decided to stop in Fuji and visit Iwamotoyama park to get a view of Mt Fuji before flying out of Tokyo the following evening. This hotel was very conveniently located right outside of Fuji Station (local train) and approx 20-25min walk to Shin-Fuji station (for the Shinkansen trains). It is a short taxi ride (10min) and 30-35min bike ride to the base of Iwamotoyama (Jissoji Temple entrance). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nothing fancy, small but clean. Temperature control was a bit of an issue initially, but the room cooled down when I started the A/C unit. It was on par with many of the other budget hotels in which I stayed during my trip traveling around Japan's main island. I would definitely stay here again if I decided to return to Fuji!

We stayed here for two nights on our way through to Kyoto. It is pretty far from the Fuji five lakes area (about 1.5 to 2 hr drive), which is the exciting part of the Fuji region. Room was ok size and came with a double bed (even though the bed was a bit hard) and air conditioning. Very minimal things in the room - small fridge, tea pot, tea and TV. The whole hotel is very dated but it served its purpose for us :) a cheap place to stay on our way through. If staying, ask for a room on the Fuji mountain side, as the trains kept us awake all night (we were right above them and it was very loud). But on a positive note, the staff were just wonderful. Incredibly helpful even with minimal English. Helped us find a chemist nearby, provided us with complimentary treats of food when we arrived and they even helped us put our next location into our Japanese GPS that we didnt know how to use. The staff were definitely the highlight. Thank you very much.
