This was actually a Hotel for Japanese couples who wish to get away from the kids for a few hours for some intimate time, or if their sleeping around behind their girlfriend or boyfriends back. Normally you hire a themed room for a few hours. If you can get over that, it was actually very comfortable. Although the spa bath didn't work. Overall, quite enjoyable.

When booking through Expedia, nowhere is mentioned that it's a 'love hotel'. It stinks of cigar smoke. It's cheaper, but if i knew i would have booked elsewhere. And it's not possible to cancel once booked.

The hotel is very tired and the room smelt strongly of old tobacco smoke despite being a ‘smoke-free’ room. The window was bordered up so you couldn’t even open it for fresh air. The linen was clean and the cups/cutlery were packaged so we’re safe to use but the room was a bit dusty and tired. The lady that we met was amazing, she did our breakfast which was very sweet and served to our room at our requested time, she offered us her umbrella to borrow and also kept our luggage until we collected them later. She was very kind and welcoming and feel we only stayed because of her. Not too bad an area but in need of cleaning and updating.

It's a love hotel so of course there's a sketch atmosphere but the room had the best size of any room we stayed in Japan, not to mention a king sized bed! Breakfast was delicious, service was good but staff doesnt speak much if at all English (understandable). The room was very dated, the window was broken but covered, several shower tiles were chipped/broken and my side of the bed was broken and creaked and cracked pretty bad, it's seen some action. There is music playing in the hallways to muffle room sounds lol. Overall it was almost what we expected at a great price. Location was awesome too with a station less than a block away. Could it use a facelift? Absolutely! Do I care enough to not return? Hell no. Would definitely return and recommend. Side note, it has plenty of mirrors, a huge tub and free porn, just sayin' ^_^

Don't let the picture of the suite with the in-room car fool you. Compared to other love hotels I've had the pleasure of an overnight stay in Japan at a similar price point - Hotel Public Jam is consoderably run down with lights that do not work in the room, a very old bathtub and a ill-maintained bathroom that's full of dust and a broken minibar which was removed from the room leaving just a cut power cable in the space for the minibar. Very disappointed.

I thought it would be fun while on vacation in Japan to spend a night at a love hotel. I think this is not the place for that experience. The only pros I can think of are that it isn't in a terrible location (close to a subway stop), the room is large and the sheets looked clean. The cons are pretty big. The room smelled of smoke, and of whatever they used to try and cover the smoke smell. The washroom was terribly smokey, to the point that we ended up breathing through our shirts to disguise the smell. The place is dated and as such, has stains. The sheets didn't cover the entire mattress, only a top layer. So there was exposed old mattress in the room. There were items that were 'sealed' for you to use (like a hairbrush hairdryer attachment) that had hair on the inside of the packaging... We almost decided to take a loss of the money we spent on renting the room and finding another hotel, but it was already late by the time we checked in. We slept in the place and left in the morning without hanging around (definitely did not put us in the mood).
