What Guests Say About Their Stay

We did the Tateyama Alpine Route from Toyama and decided to stay in Omachi. To get to Omachi there is a bus you can catch after getting off the tunnel electric bus in Ogizawa. We were pleasantly surprised with our room located on the top floor and had our own balcony. We stayed in a traditional Japaneses room which had its own toilet and bathroom. The onsen offered at this hotel is fantastic. Inside and outside onsen with sauna. The staff are helpful. Due to the timing of luggage forward service, our luggage had to be forwarded to the hotel a day prior to us arriving. The hotel and staff kept it safe us, which was great. We would definitely stay here again.

Be sure to enjoy the large hot springs baths at the hotel. Be prepared to sleep on futons over tatami mats. There are several attractions that you can easily access using the two circular bus routes in Omachi.

It is a good choice for rather tight budget with buffet half board options near the area. Originally I booked a 8-tatami triple room, I was told later at the hotel for a free upgrade offer to 10-tatami triple room. It was a surprise to me. Also the onsens in hotel also were great experience and relaxing. If you would like to visit Tateyama Kurobe area, it would be a choice for you as an economical half board option.

We stayed during the rainy season of June with a family of 8. Can't see much of the mountains view but the buffet dinner, Onsen and the tatami rooms were enough to keep us satisfy and rested after a long journey from Tokyo. Highlights of the dinner are Wagyu beef prepared right before the guests, Boiled Crabs, BBQ fish, Roasted sesame seed coated mochi, Soba and ice-cream for the kids. The Onsen water is silky smooth. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Comfortable stay. All rooms are smoking, but didn't notice any smoking smell in our room. Dinner and breakfast buffets both had good selection of Japanese food (very limited western choices). Floor in common area needs replacing, especially in the dining area. Unfortunately the cable car broke down and we were unable to go over the Tateyama alpine route. The alpine route website doesn't keep an ongoing notice of when the cable car stopped working so it always appears like it just broke down that day.
