I had a wonderful stay at Kyoto Brighton Hotel. The hotel has a relaxing, resort-like atmosphere that makes it a peaceful retreat after a day of sightseeing in Kyoto. My room was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed. I especially appreciated the large bathtub and the excellent selection of bath amenities, which made it easy to unwind and relax. The staff were consistently helpful, courteous, and attentive throughout my stay. Their hospitality added to the overall positive experience. Breakfast was another highlight. There was a great variety of options, and everything I tried was fresh and delicious. It was the perfect way to start each day. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily recommend Kyoto Brighton Hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto.

We had a lovely stay at the Kyoto Brighton Hotel. Located north of the main city center, it offers a wonderful, quieter escape, though you should expect to take a taxi to get to the main train station and most major sightseeing hubs. For us, the location's unique perks far outweighed the distance: Historic Walkability: Nijo Castle (Kyoto Castle) is well within walking distance and made for a fantastic, highly enjoyable excursion. Local Neighborhood Vibe: We absolutely loved walking around the immediate neighborhood. It feels authentic and local, yet remains incredibly convenient. Within a short walk, we found a great grocery store, several 7-Eleven locations, and a very handy coin-operated laundry. The Best Part: The hotel is an easy, beautiful walk to the expansive Kyoto Imperial Palace park grounds. One minor downside to note: Be careful with your physical room keys! The hotel will charge you a fee if you lose them or if you want to keep one as a souvenir. Overall, if you don't mind relying on taxis to venture further out, the Brighton offers a peaceful, authentic, and highly comfortable base for exploring Kyoto.

The hotel was very lovely and all the staff were welcoming and courteous. I was able to obtain a room upgrade upon my arrival without any issues. My room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The breakfast buffet had a nice selection of items that accommodated western visitors. My favorite was the french toast. The location is situated in a quiet area of Kyoto in the Kamiygo Ward and about a 11-14 minute walk to the subway station but the hotel offers daily shuttle service to a main station for convenience. On some days where I had long days of walking I preferred to take the local taxis which can drive you to popular places nearby like Gion and Nishiki Market. There is also a 7Eleven around the corner if you need to withdraw money from an ATM. Just be aware that the luggage delivery service the hotel partners with (Sagawa Express) does not offer luggage transport to the airport so if Kyoto is your last destination in Japan before you depart for the airport you will need to consider other options. Other than that I would highly recommend the Kyoto Brighton.
