traditional Japanese hotel with very friendly staff who can communicate with English. Basic breakfast with just toast, butter, jam and coffe or tea. The big public bath area is wonderful for a tiring day. Not much to do around the hotel at night within walking distance

This hotel is great for self driving people because car park just cross the road. Location close to night clubs area of Naha which may not be good for walking around expecially we had one kid. We had a Japanese style room for three of us and the size was huge. The hotel had no lift and I have to carry two big suitcases to upper level. The public bath was good but only open at night time. However, we only stayed over night and we had a car and I think the hotel is great for this situation.

Nice hotel with home feeling. Supermarket nearby, but a little far from nearest monorail station and city center so a bit of walking but exercise was good. Staff very helpful and friendly even if they knew only a little English. Would be nice if there were English TV channels.

One business in the neighborhood seemed a bit questionable and the hotel plain, but the Japanese style room with en suite bathroom (a nice alternative to having to use the sento) and the staff were lovely. We enjoyed our time in Naha, especially our interactions with the staff and other guests of our hotel. They were helpful and friendly, giving us good guidance for finding excellent local restaurants, a nearby grocery, and directions to the Marine base. Parking was convenient, being just across the quiet street. Breakfast was simple toast and jam with tea or coffee, but given the price of the room we didn't expect food at all, and the neighborhood grocery provided excellent supplemental drinks, fruit, and snacks that weren't available in the hotel lobby selection.

Fantastic value - large room - friendly staff - has all the amenities plus a great bath/onsen. Although located close to the 'pink district' this is easily avoided and it is a safe 20 minute walk to the main street. The only down sides - breakfast is basic and the room I had looked onto a cement wall. I would return to Rakuchin.

You will need to take a taxi to this hotel, since there are no English signs at all, and it does not look like a hotel from the outside. Interesting half-Japanese room, with lovely wood floor, and low table and chairs on a tatami mat. But the Western bed was uncomfortably hard, and the pillow contained some granular material. The room was very quiet, and the entire hotel is non-smoking, which is a bonus in Japan. The area is not great for walking around. In one direction is a very seedy area with strip clubs. The other area has some other hotels, including the Hotel Loisir, where I recommend you have the dinner buffet.

First, try to make sure you know the Japanese characters for the place from their original website because it can be a little tough to find. However, when you do, it was an absolutely great place to stay. Very clean and tidy rooms. The staff was all extremely helpful. There is a public bath for guests open until 12am, which is a great way to relax at night. Also walking distance from some good restaurants and International Street, and the beach. Overall one of the best places we stayed in Okinawa. Will be back again in the future.
