The building is quite old but classic. Nice to feel traditional Japanese inn. However, we are quite lucky to be given room downstairs. The stairs were extremely steep! I think it was not suitable for your parents to go upstairs. Check-in time was until 9 PM (or 10? I forgot). So do not check in late. Ensure to communicate with the guesthouse if you are forced to check in late. You need to pay ¥200 per person per night for accommodation tax in cash. No deposit required. And... ah you are not allowed to stay in the building (and not even using the toilet) after check out.

Cozy experience. Small space for the expensive price at weekend. You need to put up your beding by yourself and place back the same before check out. Location is good as it near sub station and eating place.

This hostel is a renovated old house. One of the most disappointing things about this hotel is that you cannot check in before 4pm. The front door of the hotel is locked with a digital key (using a pin), so we have difficulty contacting the receptionist. In fact, we cannot leave the bag so that our time is wasted one day to wait for check in time. Apart from that, the rooms are quite good. Our room is located on the 2nd floor with a small staircase. This might make it difficult for guests with large luggage bags. The room floor is made of wood, and we walk slowly because it can disturb guests below. I can also hear the space beside, but it doesn't bother us. The bedrooms are also comfortable with folding mattresses and duvets that are comfortable for each bed. Friendly and helpful staff. The bathroom (shared) was also clean and tidy. There is one bathroom that has been renovated and has a pink feel. The location is quite far from the station and eating place. This hotel rents bicycles around Kyoto.

We booked room no 5, where the room is for 2 people for 2 days. Check-in is required at 4 pm, but we can leave our bags before check-in. Around the hotel there are many convenience stores, there are fredo, 100 yen shop, level, so don't be afraid of starvation. The nearest Subway is approximately 500 m. The bus stop is right in front of the alley. Near the hotel a 1.5 km walk is near the Nishiki market, Gion, and if you continue to go to Kiyomizudera. For the room there are no TV facilities in the room. Can rent a bicycle 750 yen / day.

The place is warm. But a little small. There's a private room. The place is a Japanese traditional house. The receptionist, Fuka, is very nice and helpful. Thank you Fuka San.
