Disappointed with my one night stay. We had to leave early in the morning for the airport so we booked one night near Tokyo Station. Upon arriving to our room, it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke (despite being a non smoking smoker room). Given that it’s one of the larger rooms available, we elected not to switch given that we already barely fit in the double room with our luggage. Additionally, the sheets were so thin I could see the mattress through them and there was what appeared to be mold on the bathroom ceiling. If it hadn’t been 11pm when we checked in, I would have left and lost the $100 I paid for the room and stayed elsewhere.

The high rating is for the location. So close to Tokyo station and Nihombashi station (on the Ginza line so no transfers needed from Shibuya). The hotel is convenient for its purpose (business hotel) but for tourists, the rooms are small. I had the single room and couldn’t even open my carry-on size luggage unless I put it on my bed. Overall the rooms were simple with everything you need (no safe though). Washrooms were clean and ample warm water. Not very eco friendly - I purposely put the DND sign because I didn’t need my room serviced but they left a tote bag with towels and amenities in front of my door. Nice gesture though. The area is quite lively at night but I was on the 7th floor. However walls were thin and you could hear TVs, people snoring and flushing toilets. Also, the ventilation was poor and you could smell cigarette smoke from the streets. Check-in/out was uneventful. Everyone was welcoming.

We spent one night here in a turnaround between a hiking trip and a long train journey south. So the most important feature was the excellent location 5 mins from Tokyo Stn. The room was clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom was extremely tiny though and hard to maneuver inside. Plenty of restaurants and a large Daimaru on the doorstep among many other stores.
