Kilima Safari Camp

The rooms are outdated. The swimming pool area smells like pee. Food was barely average. The staff is poorly trained and what was really the worst was that we booked a full day safari for $350 directly with the hotel. worst mistake ever, outside companies charge you around $200 and they have trained drivers. Instead the driver that the hotel assigned us for the safari game was someone from outside the area who didn't even know the name of the animals and knew nothing about the park. He was very friendly and tried hard but the hotel gave him no training whatsoever. Never book a safari game with the hotel they cost double and the experience is bad. Do not waste your money in this hotel, last time we stayed on All Tukai and it was so much better.

The website on Expedia stated that the rooms have air condition. NONE of the rooms have air condition. The website also states that the hotel has Wi-Fi. They do Wi-Fi from time to time and have a very poor signal strength. It is worse than the OLD Dail-up. I finally gave up and hot spotted my cell phone in order to use my laptop. The last thing is the bed I had did not have a mattress, or if it did it was the hardest one, I have every sleep on. It was like sleeping on a board.

Attentive staff in all areas; individual tent/cabins; views of Mount Kilimanjaro (weather permitting) from prime rooms, dining, bar, and pool areas; extensive and tasty buffet selections;

Tent was very spacious and beds were comfortable with insect nets. Food variety was good with various options. Just ensure you get there at the beginning of the service otherwise the food takes time to get replenished. Great staff and service!

Amazing hotel next to Amboseli NP

Absolutely beautiful

This lodge is absolutely beautiful, clean and right outside the Amboseli National Park. The food was amazing everyday.

We had a wonderful two night stay. The tent/rooms were very large and well decorated. We did have to ask for a hair dryer, but the front desk was able to provide one. The view from our patio included Mount Kilimanjaro both days. This was our favorite place to stay during our 14 day travels through Kenya and Tanzania.

Pictures are a little misleading. Property is in desperate need of renovations... both rooms and common areas. Food was decent but felt more like a mess hall. Our power in our tent failed twice and needed to walk a ways to reception to ask for repairs since there are no phones in room.

We really enjoyed our time here. The view from our room was remarkable, making it memorable. Check in could have been smoother there was a little confusion so it took longer which we wanted to start our game drive and had a short delay. It was fixed quickly, they were accommodating, we are grateful they fixed us a quick lunch which was after their normal hours so we could eat before going into Amboseli NP. The directions given on Orbitz need to be corrected. Part of the confusion we thought we had booked at the wrong property. Which we booked exactly where we wanted to be. A few minute drive to the gate of Amboseli. Perfect location with good staff, beautiful big tents.

The property is extremely attractive and easy to reach with good roads. The game park access is less than two minute drive. The rooms are most pleasing, the food selection was well thought and delicious. The reception was always open and friendly with information on all amenities. We were astonished to receive 4 star service. Mount Kilimanjaro is visible and so is the water hole for animals who come to feed. Will definitely refer our friends and visit soon again. Bravo!

Beautiful camp, set very close to Amboseli NP entry gate. Cottages are spacious and comfortable. Stuff was very polite and helpful. Camp is quite big, so you will need to walk a bit to furthest cottages. We were regularly seeing a lot of elephants from terrace of our cottage. Swimming pool is very nice and spacious. Food was good(buffet for all 3 meals), WiFi was bad, but we didn't need it. Our overall experience was great. Highly recommended!

A real gem of a hotel, only 2 minutes drive to the Amboseli National Park Gate. Service was Exceptional. Maureen at reception deserves special mention for her responsiveness and customer service skills

We had such a lovely time here during our visit to Amboseli National Park! The staff were incredibly kind and attentive — always smiling and ready to help with anything we needed. The location couldn’t be better, right on the edge of the park with stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, especially in the early morning. After a day of safari, we loved relaxing at the bar (greetings to Johnathan, the bartender) and watching the sunset — such a peaceful and unforgettable atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy Amboseli with great people and amazing views!
