Hostal Casa MX Centro

This was my first time in a hostel. and the hostel has a lot of character with a large, interesting lobby. However, the rooms are mixed-gender, which made me feel uncomfortable. While the bed was fairly large and the room felt spacious, there was an unpleasant smell, and the bedding did not feel clean. Overall, it is a okay place for its price.

Nos hospedamos cuatro personas en una habitación privada del 4 al 8 de diciembre. El hostal está en una construcción antigua muy bonita y su ubicación es excelente, a solo dos cuadras del Zócalo y cerca del metro. Eso sí, al estar en una zona tan céntrica, puede haber eventos o marchas “sorpresa” que afecten la movilidad, como nos ocurrió a nosotros. El personal fue siempre muy amable y atento, aunque al llegar no tenían suficientes llaves y recibimos la nuestra hasta el segundo día. La limpieza en general fue buena, aunque al entrar encontramos una bola de pelo en el cuarto. Lo más complicado fue la habitación: no tiene ventanas ni extractor de aire y, aun estando en temporada de frío, el cuarto se calentaba demasiado por. El único abanico no era suficiente, así que dormir resultó difícil. Sinceramente, no me imagino cómo sería en verano. Calificaciones: Comodidad: 3/5 Limpieza: 4/5 Atención del staff: 5/5 En resumen, es un hostal bonito, bien ubicado y con excelente staff, pero la ventilación y el calor dentro de la habitación afectan mucho la comodidad. Si mejoran ese aspecto, la experiencia sería mucho más agradable. Le doy 3 estrellas por que de verdad no pudimos dormir nada bien los días que nos quedamos.

A very noisy place, they have a bar in the roof with very loud music that closes at 11 pm every day, it is impossible to sleep before that time, the reception employees do nothing, they only tell you that " bar closes at 11 pm". Even that the price is low, and it is located in downtown, please do not go there if you are planning to sleep!!

Good Place

If you're solo traveling and like hostels, this place is pretty good. If you're not, you may find some issues. The goods: It's a pretty cool building in a fantastic location. The staff were helpful and semi-bilingual. As a hostel it's not too bad. Decent amount of room and privacy. Felt like a college dorm The bads: Outlets at the bed worked but the USB ports were a bit funky. Privacy curtains were strained. Room could get hot at night. Bathrooms could've been cleaner. Felt like a college dorm

En general las instalaciones del hotel, la ubicación y los cuartos estan bien. El problema es el rooftop que tienen en el edificio, el ruido hasta las 11 pm es terrible, si alguien quiere descansar temprano, es imposible porque la terraza funciona hasta las 11 om. Fui a la recepción a pedir tapa oidos y no tenían, esto podría ser una pequeña solución al problema del ruido. Siendo un hotel, no debería tener un bar/rooftop en sus instalaciones, no lo recomiendo para familias

I love the esthetics of this property. I stayed in the palacio national 001 for a week. The bed was huge which is a plus. It was quiet and the common area was clean. The shared mens bathroom in the room was always out of toilet paper. I don’t think anyone ever went in there to clean the room. Also the shared men’s shared showers had dirty, old, ripped shower curtains and also was not cleaned daily. Although the room had 2 fans it was super hot in the huge room. So much I had to go buy a small fan. I have stayed at many hostals and they all have provided towels at this hostal I didn’t receive a towel was told where I could get one. I was prepared because I brought my own. I really enjoyed the location of the hostal and how nice the young ladies were at the front desk.

Bed was dirty hair all over it, floor as well. Bathroom did not have a toilet seat just the toilet, Over all it was a 4/10 dont recommend unless youre on a strict budget.

Good bed. The room was too warm, but a cool shower made it easier. The shower stalls and the sink counter can be better. The staff give good service. Amazing historical building. Learn some history about the first owner of the building from Chris if he is there.

Located in the heart of the old part of the city. Convenient to sightseeing buses and subway. I used the subway for round trip transportation from the airport. Lots of stairs and NO elevator I could see. Don’t bring a large suitcase or a heavy bag, Also bring a pad lock for your valuables. Luggage closet at the front desk is not guaranteed.

The bed was used and the guys give me the bed like that. When I was ready to sleep, the bed was durty with dust and they pretend to me changing the bed when it is not my work. The bathroom was not cleaned and we didn't have toilet paper for long time. No good experience. But in the morning they tale care of my luggage very well only.

Easy one to review. Magnificent foyer, modern finishes, polite desk staff, superb location. Then, dirty bathrooms, completely unusable kitchen for coffee, reserved female bed but ended up in mixed bunk. Its ok but theres a lot of choice. Unless your budget is rock bottom, because you cant beat the price.

Walkable to areas I wanted to go to and close to public transit.

The bed was comfortable, plus the rooms and bathrooms were super clean. I traveled there during Christmas holidays and there was lots to see and do within walking distance and transit or an uber were swift options to get around. Not having an elevator was a bit of annoying though.
