Hotel Playa Zipolite

Location great. Room okay. No hot water half the time. Beach area good. Pool under major renovation, could not use, this was very disappointing. Front desk guy (evenings) UNFRIENDLY, and zero English. Never looked up from his phone.

end of Nov 2025 the hotel is under renovation, drilling will disturb you from 8 am until 6pm. It looks like works should be done by Jan '26. Despite the noise I had a great stay, initially planned to stay for 2 nights but ended up extending to 4 nights. Great location, A/C works great, TV with cable tv with some channels in english, hot water and the hotel is in ok shape. Wifi is good enough to watch netflix on the ipad in the evenings, but I don't think the signal is good enough for video calls, I had one on my phone and the video and audio lagged . The hotel is basic but comfortable. The highlight is the beach area with the lounge chairs under a proper hut to protect you from the sun. The town is tinny but you've got what you need for an enjoyable stay. There's a coffee shop by the entrance, some bakeries, and plenty of restaurants around. Nights are peaceful with no noise. I'm a female traveling solo and felt safe and comfortable during my stay. The hotel staff is kind, friendly and helpful. I'm definitely coming back after the renovations are finished.

Nice trip

The owner and staff were welcoming and so attentive. Great location and quality for the price. Hot shower and thick towels. Rooms near the beach can experience some noise on the weekends as guests gather there but that’s to be expected.

The place is so good i just walked 5 ft to be in the beach, the staff is very nice, always clean, every thing is like you want

Clean. Cold AC. Attentive cleaning staff. WiFi. Comfortable beds. It’s was an overall pleasant stay. You’re not in the room much since you’re out and about but sleep was comfortable and the shower was great. It’s not a 5 star hotel and some might

I arrived at hotel to book for the night, connected to their wifi but it was very slow and got disconnected and the site ended up changing the dates with a new session that I didn’t notice til my confirmation. Staff was unwilling to cancel the booking even though this all happened directly in front of them.

Hotel Playa Zipolite is right on the Main Street in Zipolite, within walking distance to restaurants, bars, on one side and direct access to the beach on the other side. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is super friendly.

Great service, staff always attentive. Great location. Amenities were minimal, but that was fine as you spend a lot of your time walking the beach.

Great location. Rooms have been updated with nice bathrooms, fridge and AC units. Needs a safe to store valuables and passports. Beach towels were not easily accessible. Some days you could get towels and on some ocassions beach towels were denied by the front office. Pool area was dirty. Pool had leaves in it and the water was murky. Outdoor beach areas had limited seating and frequently were full of empty cans and garbage.

Property was nice and very reasonably priced for being on the beach. They had a nice shaded patio area facing the ocean for reading and relaxing. Pool area was nice, but I didn't spend a lot of time there. Staff was very helpful and professional. The only complaint is that the power went out for 24 hours. A bit of an inconvenience but I would stay there again.

Todo estuvo excelente, mas de lo que esperaba. Todo limpio, el staff super amable, muy céntrico de todo, super amplio y bien cuidado. Me vuelvo a quedar ahí la próxima!

We spent a week in zipolite and enjoyed our stay very much. Excellent location, close to everything in town and on the beach. Would recommend!

This basic hotel was a great find. Ocean front, steps to great restaurants and shopping. The rooms were clean, the staff was very friendly. Originally booked 2 nights and ended up extending the stay. Great value for the location.

The hotel is basic, but clean, and the beds are comfortable. Also, the AC is fantastic, and for the price point there are not a lot of options with hotels that offer AC. The location could not be better, beach front and next to some great restaurants and beach clubs. WiFi is spotty throughout the day, and hot water runs out when too many people shower in the morning, but overall not too much of a concern if you can work around that. On a side note, the room had a fridge. I plugged it in, and it worked, but emitted a foul odor. I would suggest not plugging in the fridge if your room has one. Once unplugged, the smell went away. Originally booked 2 nights, ended up extending the stay. Easily recommend the hotel for anyone that is looking for basic but clean accommodation.

It was a fantastic stay! The location is unbeatable. Right on the beach, super comfortable and within walking distance to restaurants, Bars and Playa del Amor. We just got back and we already booked our return stay! LOOOOOOVE it
