What Guests Say About Their Stay

Perfect for what I needed, clean, comfortable, hot water, privacy, not drafty at night (winter stay). There was music from the bar downstairs but only until mid-evening, which I expected given that it is a mixed use venue. Staff were friendly, to the point, and respectful! I apppreciate this location in Thamel as well as it is a pleasant walk through the Kathmandu Guest Hotel Gardens to get across the area and hugging the west side there are pleasant side eateries. I did not attend yoga classes but it is cool that the Divine Yoga space is right there. Note I stayed on the first floor and there is not much daylight into the room as the window faces an inner vestibule, but if you are out all day you do not miss it. Recommended!

It was wonderful, the bed was soft and there was hot water (after a couple of weeks of none of that). Really nice people working there, gave me coffee, and the coffee was great

The staff at The Doors are very amazing. Mr Ram and Rajendra are particularly friendly and helpful. The room itself is quite comfortable. It is quite quiet despite of next to on site bar and restaurant.

I have no idea how the place has such a high score. The only good points were: Good location, helpful staff, nice outdoor seating area. The room itself was the most digusting room I have ever been in. I am not exaggerating when i say that every square inch of the duvet was covered in yellow patches. It was so bad that i even started to wonder if its part of the duvet design! However, I pulled back the duvet, and the mattress cover was covered in curly little hairs, and all kinds of brown and red crusty stains. So I am certain these guys did not bother to change the covers after (god knows how many) previous guests. I was disgusted. I basically couldn't sleep all night. I spent most of the night sitting outside, then at 5am I put two layers of clothes on and tried my best to sleep on that disgusting bed, in the freezing cold. Also, the towel was hard and crusty. I feel sick thinking about it. Also, the room stunk terribly of urine, I couldnt get rid of the smell. Mosquitos too. I got out of there as soon as I could the next morning. I feel about 25% bad for writing this, as the staff were so nice. But they dont care about guests' hygeine or comfort, so this review is deserved. One more thing... I moved on to a really nice, proper hotel... which cost the same as this place. Sorry but people deserve to know they will be staying in an unhygienic place. Cleanliness is my number 1 priority and this hotel failed miserably.

Cool courtyard area. Good location. The only downside as a non smoker hanging out in a polluted city was people smoking in the courtyard and it coming into my room.
