Fairly clean rooms/common areas. The staff were attentive

I recently stayed at CoolDocks in Rotterdam and had a really enjoyable time. It’s a relatively new, modern hostel right in the heart of the city, which makes it super convenient for exploring the main sights, nightlife, shops and cafés, all within walking distance.

Friendly staff, but bring your eye mask as the dorm lights seem to stay on all night (couldn’t see any light switches and the windows aren’t covered). The charging socket is at the foot end of the bed, which is an odd choice. The toilets were dirty and the shower barely became lukewarm. Overall it’ll do for a night if you’re on a budget but a few things could be improved.

Good hostel - good value. Spartan kitchen and could do with a bit more in the way of staff/cleaners, but it was a clean, decent space with comfy beds and a nice friendly vibe.

The hostel was very clean and well maintained. Rooms were tidy, bathrooms were regularly cleaned, and everything felt fresh and comfortable. A great stay overall.

I was quite amazed how good the hostel was, as I did not expect much for the price I paid. This is a brand newly opened hostel, so the rooms are really like pictures! Showers and toilets are clean enough. They have an elevator from the reception, first few steps to reception are stairs only. Downstairs there is a communal place with shared kitchen, simple but effective for a quick meal.

The hostel is clean and tidy. The rooms are spacious and quiet. The only problem is the kitchenette which is too small and almost always has a line of guests waiting to use it.

It wasn't bad for a cheap hostel, it was rather dirty, especially the common area, and there was no respect for quietness either in the common area or in the sleeping area, with people blaring music, phone calls. People were washing their clothes in the bathroom sinks. The beds themselves are also rather strange to enter. You aren't near any convenient public transport. I did not receive a towel either, and the showers are very low quality, unable to get hot water, or to have the water pour for longer than a couple seconds at a time. The Area around the property wasn't the greatest. While you were near a touristy area, there was also a lot of suspicious people walking around. In the evening and at night there was obvious street racing, and non-stop motorcycle revving. For the Price, I got what I expected, but do not expect more than that.

It was loud and hot inside the bunk. I couldn’t sleep through the night. The room also smelled of old wet sweaty towel.

Not a terrible idea staying there for a couple of nights, but after that it would be little uncomfortable to share spaces with so many people especially those who throw their luggage in the corridor. Everything else.. you get what you pay.

Excellent value for money: a real hidden gem in downtown rotterdam! Clean room / pod, a good night rest and flexible check-in time. I don’t need more.

One of the best hostel in Europe. Good location, Clean, Quiet, Awesome Staffs. With a mini kitchen which works well; with more-than-enough toilets and showers, which are all very very clean; with really good staffs who keep handling all the situations from some weird guests so hard, which make the whole place stay peace and harmonic. And, really very good price, totally worth, I had very pleasant stay for 9 nights. Special thanks to Mo and OG(萵苣), good job, you're the best. Will definitely recommend to anyone and I will be back again.
