We stayed in the Junior suite with a queen bed and it was immaculate. The bathroom looked like it was new or just remodeled it was spotless. The view from our room 325 was fantastic overlooking Dam Square although the sound of the tram cars on the tracks lasted to midnight and could be a little botherrsome at times it was still soft enough to sleep. A wonderful room all in all.

My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights and loved it. We would definitely go back and would request the same room. The hotel is in an amazing district that is extremely walkable to shops, cafes, canals, cultural sites and all the historic beauty of Amsterdam. Looking out our window at night time was like looking at a fairy tale scene with the church and shops lit up. Our room and the hotel was clean, the beds were very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. I look forward to visiting Amsterdam again and would happily return to Die Port van Cleve hotel, no hesitations.

We had a Suite on the 6th floor which was a very nice, large room with a separate seating area and two large TVs. The room was very nice, clean, quiet and comfortable! The lobby was also very nice. The only thing in dire need of an update was the 6th floor hallway. Perhaps they have not gotten around to updating these areas yet? The front desk staff were all very helpful! I would highly recommend this hotel!

Die Port Van Cleive is in the original Heineken Brewery building. There is a restaurant located downstairs (not owned by the hotel) that has good food at a reasonable price for Amsterdam. There is also a brown pub downstairs. What I liked most about this hotel was the ease to get to the museumplein - Rijks and Van Gogh Museums. An easy walk to the Central station. My room was small - not room for even a chair - however the bed was comfortable and the room had its own bathroom, safe, mini fridge and coffee maker. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Two people on vacation, 3 nights. Stayed in the Suite, very roomy. Had everything we needed, coffee/tea, etc. Only comment is that this is an older hotel, and although well maintained, does have that old hotel character. So if you are looking at something more 'modern' then you may want to consider that. Location was also great, in the center of downtown AMS with easy access to trams, and walking to shops, 9 streets area, etc. Very safe area, and with grocery and drug stores a very short walk from the hotel. Would definitely visit again.

The room was on the first floor near the street. He heard a couple people yelling a few times at 3 am and the neighbor slamming their door at 4 am didn't help. The room was also above their stock room delivery receiving area, so you would hear the banging of carts at 7 am. The room was very clean and mostly quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay again but request a corner room.
