I booked here because I was visiting University College of Utrecht and this was one of the few hotels anywhere near the school that had a last minute vacancy. Utrecht is a city of 350,000 people but depending on where you are, there aren't a lot of hotels and if you book last minute like I did, there are even fewer choices.
In a nutshell, this boutique hotel was a very pleasant experience. We arrived extremely late and we woke the hotel owner. We had to planned to leave very early the next morning but opted to stay a few hours later. We got up and opted for the breakfast at the hotel, which was only 7 Euro each. It was a very complete continental breakfast and well worth what we paid (Netherlands isn't what I would call cheap.).
Our room was small but had two twin beds: I didn't complain because we booked last minute and that was all that was left. The room was nicely appointed and clean. The bedding was comfortable and also very clean. As expected, the bathroom was small but it contained a toilet, sink, and shower. Two towels and a floor mat were provided. There were plenty of outlets for your electrical needs and a European power adapter was available if needed.
This hotel was clean and in a good location. It even has bicycles to rent. The owner, who appeared to be doing everything, was always very pleasant. I would recommend it and would stay there again. Only one issue some folks may have: there are 2 flights of stairs, which are narrow and steep.

We loved the hotel and the area it is in. It is in a good quiet location where you can do everything by foot or rent a bike for the day. I am very happy with our accommodation. I think for many the rooms may be small but we were happy with it.

It was a half hour walk from the train station, which we used to familiarize ourselves with the area. Could have very easily taken a bus, as there is a stop close to the hotel. Our room was on the 2nd level, but due to the set up of the hallways and rooms, we got lost trying to find ours, despite the desk clerk’s instructions. The stairs were very treacherous- narrow steps and spiral-like at the top and bottom, so would not recommend if you have mobility issues or heavy luggage. The bed was two singles put together, which is somewhat normal, but if you like snuggling your partner, it simply won’t work as you’ll slowly fall through the middle. It was not how I wanted to spend the last night of our vacation :( No frills at all (as stated in the ad)- the room only supplied liquid soap for showing and hand washing. The room key was very clunky to carry around The room isn’t insulated very well and took a long time to warm up with the radiator. Tiny closet size bathroom.

Beds too small. Blankets too small. Hardly can wrap yourself with them. Squicky wooden floors. Not much noise insulation. Pretty much hear everything from next door. Pathway not at all lit up. A big NO.

Staff very friendly but the rooms are incredibly small. I had to leave the bathroom door open just to use the sink. I booked through Expedia the rate was $72 USD when we arrived at the hotel said they had the confirmation but I had to pay their website price of 85 euro or $94 USD that's a complete bait and switch and pretty sure illegal - not sure if it's an Expedia issue or the hotel but it needs to be addressed and guests need to be aware. No amenities in the room, coffee available downstairs for 1 euro, which is fine but not for a hotel of this caliber. I'd expect to pay that but only in a hotel where my room was stocked with soap, shampoo, and water.

The hotel is a basic but pleasant space. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only major complaint was the warmth of the room as it was a warm few days and the one window did not provide sufficient cooling in the early evening though it cooled off overnight. A fan would help. The staff were helpful and polite. I only used the bus once but it stops very close to the hotel and makes commuting to the city center and rail station quite simple. Would stay again.

Good location with transport a few minutes away. Easy walk into town centre. Quiet & safe area. Hotel is clean & typical of of those in the region ie no lift and plenty of stairs (beware -steep & winding if you have mobility issues). Breakfast was simple but adequate to start the day. The room was clean, bright & ventilated. Quite comfy for the few nights I stayed.

A very basic hotel with basic facilities. Rooms were clean enough. Bathroom small and basic. If you have luggage other than carry on request a room on lower levels unless you are fit and strong as the stairs up to levels 2 and 3 are extremely shallow and steep. In fact my partner fell down the stairs. Breakfast is very basic and exactly the same every day. Considering the price of other hotels in Utrecht this one is more affordable and if you don’t mind a good walk you can get to the centre of town or there are plenty of buses.

A quiet, peaceful hotel 1km away from the city centre which can be reached on foot, hire a bike at the hotel or catch a bus - only €2.80. The breakfast was typically Dutch, plenty of bread rolls, croissants, cheese and meat. The breakfast area was clean, tidy and nicely appointed.
My single room was small but very comfortable with a neat en-suite bathroom. There was a nice view of the canal and gardens from my light and airy room.
The area is quiet but there are plenty of cafes and restaurants in the area as well as theatres, galleries and museums.
All in all a great base for your trip to Utrecht. Thoroughly recommended.

I enjoyed my stay: the room was basic, but comfortably and clean. Staff was helpful, it was easy to get into town and there were restaurants nearby. The rooms are located in the building next to reception and the breakfast room. Internet access was a problem: it didn't work for most of the evening, which was a problem because I needed to work. Otherwise I enjoyed staying there.

Stayed for 2 nights. Had very bad sleep. Any one walks in the corridor or takes stairs you would know. Better have your ear plugs with you.
