"Comfort" Double is very small. Glass door to bathroom with large airgaps around the edges, so you better be very close to the partner you're travelling with. No wardrobe/drawers. Nespresso machine but no Nespresso capsules, just a couple of random tea bags in the tea/coffee compartment. Nowhere in the bathroom to put your things, as it's just a sink that juts out of the wall, so you have to put your bathroom bag on the floor. Hotel contacts you on WhatsApp saying they're there 24/7, but they took 12hrs+ to get back to me, and it appeared to be some sort of email-to-whatsapp content.

This is a small hotel about 2 to 3 stars level with small rooms in an old building. It looked like it has been renovated not long ago. The room looks clean and the bathroom is spacious with good hot water for shower. The room’s floor seems a little bit uneven and you can feel that the floor or even the bed sloops to one side. I have been Marriott Bonvoy Lifetime Platinum Elite member for long time and can certainly tell the difference are quite significant. The hotel staffs are okay but far more from welcoming. They seems reluctant to give me the Coffee Capsule every time when I ask them to give me more. They don’t clean the room every day as indicated that they clean it for you every third night or you ask them to clean the room for you. One day, after they clean the room, they forget to refill the Coffee Capsule for my room. The bed is clean and soft. The location of the hotel is good.

Everything was clean. Room was super small, barely a little path around bed to walk around but we already knew that reading to other comments. We really didn’t mind for the price, so we went in knowing it was no so spacious and that was ok. Check in was smooth, lobby and bar, were super cute. They have elevator. They have stuff for you to buy in the lobby, like snacks or toothbrush, etc.. and is self service. The first day we have a problem with the toilets seat, we saw it leaking (probably something we do wrong) but we notified front desk if they could come and check it, never did. Thankfully it wasn’t anything mayor. We read on the comments that people checking you in were super helpful and nice, maybe we didn’t have luck on that part but also I kind of understand them, sometimes people can be super annoying. I witnessed a gentleman checking in at one time, and he was super entitled and kind of rude with the person at the desk, so maybe they are just tired of people like that. We loved the location, we walk 3 min. To tram and bus station also walking distance from tourist streets, restaurants am bars.

My partner and I decided to stay at Leidse Square because we had such a great experience at the Leonardo Hotel Rotterdam Savoy previously and thought this would be a win. It was a lovely hotel, very cutely decorated with dog, cat and bird photos on the walls, stylish furnishing and an adorable blue bear cushion in the room. I just feel like it simply lacks comfort in a few areas. 1. Toilet paper - is very cheap and not nice to use. 2. Bed - it is two soft mattresses made of faux leather with just a topper, not a proper fitted sheet on top. After 3 nights we both felt achy due to this not being a very supportive bed. 3. Housekeeping - you have to opt in to cleaning via a QR code in the room. I tried to do this on the first day, but it said it could not find my reservation. I just could not be bothered with it and of course suffered the consequences as a result. The hotel industry on a whole since Covid seem to think its acceptable to ask its guests to "opt-in" to housekeeping when it should be a standard. To me it comes across as a cost saving measure by the hotel and an inconvenience to guests. Positives - nice big windows with a view of the canal. There was a small fridge and a nice coffee machine in the room. The location is wonderful, close to lots of shops, restaurants, museum district (just a 10 minute walk away) and most importantly a tram line that makes it easy to get to Amsterdam Centraal in about 20 minutes.

Wed site said daily cleaning but it was not . You had to scan the QR code to request for a cleaning. You had to go down stairs to the reception for a new garbage disposal bag. It doesn’t ´provide the service as a hotel should be. It is poor service and doesn’t want to hire staff for cleaning. This is our first time and also the last time that we stayed at this hotel.
