The Hoxton is perfectly located to explore the highlights of Amsterdam over a short weekend, although if I could base myself there for far longer, I would.
The reception team are so friendly and welcoming. Our room (507) was sizeable and comfortable.
It’s busy, buzzy and yet laid back all at once.

Overall good. Disappointed though to have communicated numerous times prior to my arrival asking for an early check-in (willing to pay $$) and a welcome surprise for my husband’s birthday…they said they had it noted & a treat would be in the room for him, etc. Nothing!
Also I paid more for a roomy room with a view…it was a maze to get to it, nothing special. Had to carry our heavy luggage through steps up and down because there was no lift in the area of the room they gave us.

Amazing location in the Nine Streets. Close to everything- restaurants, shops, on a canal…
I definitely recommend getting a canal view room, it’s so lovely to look out at the canal day or night.
The staff at the front desk is kind, professional, and willing to help out with anything.
Loved the convenience of having a casual bar and restaurant downstairs. It does get busy but not crowded, if that makes sense.
Loved the quiet of my room after busy days too.
If it’s more than one person traveling, I wouldn’t suggest a “cozy” room - it is very cozy! But clean, quiet, comfortable and lovely. The towels (bath sheets), towel warmer, little fridge, and view were all wonderful.
Location is great (I know I already mentioned that but it’s walkable to SO MUCH.

The Hoxton was in a great location the rooms were clean but the 1st night we were put in a room which was close to a staff through fare and there was a banging door every 3 minutes after speaking with the manager the room was changed for a smaller than booked room they offered to pay for breakfast to make up for this but we were still out of pocket 65 pounds. There were also issues with service for the bar and restaurant with food coming late and seating not available in bar area as the were very busy.

David & Jasmin were especially helpful at check in. I stayed twice in one week with a break in the middle and had to manage a booking for a friend also. The front desk atmosphere and general style of communication is excellent at this Hoxton. Fantastic location, design & atmosphere great breakfast. Will be back there for sure.

Rooms are small, maybe we should had gotten a bigger room, but rate seems excessive (it went down after we booked it but didn’t realize), and were ready to check out after first night but were told we’d be charged full reservation price. Staff are nice…. Noise transfers from floor above where you can hear the upstairs neighbor stomping around at 5am.
Lobby restaurant is busy except for early in the morning with non-guests. Smokers hangout at the front entry which is not the best of the arrival experience combined with the whole bar scene / restaurant / Photo Booth combo.
Really depends on what you are looking for. If you are into these types of experiences then this is for you. If you want to be left alone and not feel like stepping into a bar to go to your bed prob not it.

The pillows truly were the fluffiest I have ever had; but even more amazing was the staff!!! They all genuinely wanted to go over and aboard to make us feel like they had unlimited time for us; always smiling and happy!! Lana and Charlotte were exceptionally wonderful and made us feel at home!! And the vibe downstairs to chill was wonderful!!! The breakfast was on point and delicious!!!! Excellent hotel with amazing staff!!!
