Lovely courtside room. Only problem was the ants that filled the rubbish bin when we were there for only a few hours and the slow reception service. Everything else was great including our evening spa in the rain

The staff were generally helpful, but for the price paid, the rooms felt quite dated. I also had an uncomfortable experience when using the microwave in the laundry room to heat milk for my baby — the security staff on Sunday, 8 June gave me a suspicious look and questioned what I was doing. As a parent, this made me feel quite unwelcome. It would be great if all staff, including security, were briefed to approach guests in a more courteous and understanding manner.

I booked a family double but got put in to 2 separate rooms which made it hard for me to look after my moko ... rooms ddnt gt cleaned daily so rubbish stacked up. Ran out of toiletries it was bad ...

Copthorne hotels across New Zealand were all rather swanky back in the day. I do find most of them have kept up with slight moderations within each room to stay modern yet simple, and Bay of Islands Copthorne has done just that.
Big comfortable beds. Clean bathrooms. Lovely efficient and friendly check in by team. Tidy grounds and gardens. I also loved the lemon and ginger tea bags available.
Value for money, comfort and general warmth.

It's getting a bit dated and old. Location and Spa pool are THE BEST! If you are a piggy make the most of the buffet breakfast.

We went there when the weather was really not that great, it was after a cyclone.
The stay was great, the rooms is enough for my family of four and the sea view is nice. We can see the sunrise, we were blessed with just one day of good weather.
The food at their restaurant is yummy. It’s just that we didnt opt for the buffet because of the buffet menu.
The outdoor pool was great, but only one spot is heated.
What we didnt like were the following:
- we were only given one milk (tetra pack 250mL), I feel like there should be 2.
- on our sscond day, my husband and I woke up with a bug bite, we were on different beds. Good thing the kids didnt have it.
- we shooed couple of spiders, and had a regular visit of flies
- outdoor pool was so cold especially when the weather was windy. It would have been nice for the kids if it was heated on a cold day, not heated if it is on a sunny day (just an opinion)
- the soap provided was for both hand soap and body wash.
- no designated parking for the room, first come first one to get the good spot
- the EV charger has no rule on use as someone jut left their plugin car almost the whole day, not allowing others to be able to use. Although this one is not really on the hotel but on the inconsiderate guest.

All we wanted was a good relax and watch tv in bed after a hard long week after a tangi.
Instead after and hour of trying to get tv working I call reception to be told tvs aren’t working and no discount was offered.
Was clean and tidy and comfortable which was a plus.

We stayed at a king seaview room which has an unobstructed seaview, a deck leads to large lawn area right by the sea which was so beautiful. Not sure about the cleanliness though we found crumbs of food on the floor and one of the pillows have black marks on. The shower over bath dripping water all over the floor from the glass every time you took a shower. Staff are nice and friendly can't complain. Overall we enjoyed ourselves at Copthorne bay of islands.

This was a most enjoyable stay. The staff are friendly, tge service is great, and the breakfast options are also great, and children eat for free at breakfast time. I highly recommend taking your family here for a weekend stay. Our family are definitely coming back!! Thank you Copthorbe Paihia

Great clean & fresh little spot. We stayed in a superior harbour view King room. Was nice inside, balcony tiny & Harbourview not a great deal to look at. Parking was very limited. Overall a nice place to stay
