If staying in Waiouru, would recommend Waiouru Welcome Inn. Great hosts. Very comfy unit. U beaut bed, slept like a baby.

A great cost-effective alternative to Ohakune if driving north for a day skiing. The rooms, although a little dated are clean and well equipped, and appear to be being gradually modernised over time. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Kitchen in our room was a mictowave and toaster on a office desk. No sink. No utensils other than knives, forks and spoons. Had to fill the kettle with a plastic jug as it wouldn't fit in the bathroom sink which was the only running water. Room was good other than that. We left something behing and the staff got it for us but when we called back in to pick it up at 4.30pm on a Friday it was closed with no staff on the premises. Got told they couldnt send it back, we could just call in next time we're going through. I would have been happy to pay for someone to send it back as i only go though waioru every few years but no. A bit dissapointed especially as i had organized to pick it up on Friday

I would stay in this motel if I visit again. Owners /Staff are friendly, accomodation was clean and cozy. Fair price, overall we enjoyed our stay.

I arrived to letter on door with number to ring for key. No person operating. Bed clean only one bedside table no socket to plug in light. Internet notc connecting says router issue. No one in office to sort. Towels hard no longer white. But all I needed was clean bed for one night. So dated decor not a deal breaker. Left early sent text where id left key as no one in office. Ok for one night only and reasonable price. Wouldnt stay longer .
