Great for exploring the countryside and Oslo! Lovely hotel and grounds where we enjoyed making our own waffles for breakfast, the games room- but canoeing most of all! Not sure if some staff are snooty or that is the Norwegian way 😂

Very recommendable! An excellent way to go back in time and relax in av very nice atmosphere whilst doing so. In nice weather you can enjoy the surroundings and beautiful nature, and in bad weather you can just stay indoors and take in every aspect of living in an old Norwegian mansion as they did a hundred years ago.

Everything was great. Only problem we had was with the bikes. They are electric and heavy. We had to push them back to the hotel. And there’s no airport transportation. You need to rent a car or get a taxi around $60

We took the bikes and went swimming. We played golf. Had a delicious breakfast each morning!
The only mistake we made was returning our car. You need a car to get around.

You have to take a taxi to get to the hotel. There is no other way. About 330 kronen each way

This was an amazing find! We had missed the last ferry down to Grundhaven and were bummed out but the drive on the windy hairpin curve road paid off when we opened the door to our room and looked out to a balcony overlooking the Hardanger Fjord. It was breathtaking. Wonderful staff, wonderful food and a lovely area of creation.

Out of town so a car would be preferable, but for someone who likes space rather than cramped then good option
