Thon Hotel Vika Atrium

The hotel is undergoing a large amount of building work with workmen all over the hotel indoors and out. The drilling and banging starts before 7am and continues until after 6pm on weekdays . Weekends are much quieter. So if you want a quiet holiday you will be disappointed. This seems to have been going on for a while and i think the hotel should contact people beforehand to give them a chance to cancel. I had to change room after the first night to opposite side of the hotel as the noise was horrendous. Reception area is also like a building site. Having said that the facilities and staff were fine ,although the gym is closed indefinitely and there was no wi fi in some rooms for 2 days of my stay in March. It is in a good location for transport around the city in a safe area. Ten minutes walk to the tram stop at Akker Brygg. Rooms are clean and housekeeping everyday. Breakfast was ok I think i would give this hotel 4/5 if not for the building work so just 2/5 .

Breakfast was the highlight of my day. Also location was superb. So quiet yet close to everything. Very safe.

This is the best place I’ve ever stayed in Europe. Great breakfast buffet, comfortable bed, quiet, big room and big bathroom, and so close to everything.

Very convenient location to go around the city center.

Good experience - basic hotel but with good service and in a very convenient location. The hotel itself is weirdly located in a conference building with an atrium and a tiny lobby - not very welcoming. But rooms were very good and breakfast was superb.

Easy access to all tourist sites and transportation needs. Wonderful staff and breakfast downstairs.

We enjoyed our one-night stay here. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, fold-out sofa bed was fine. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was fantastic. Location was brilliant.

This place is amazing, clean and easy walk to all attractions. Parking super easy too once you find out how to get in. Great breakfast spread. Overall great experience in this modern hotel

No towels for every guest, paid sofa bed very uncomfortable, flea on bed, informed front desk , ignored stated impossible, front desk personnel extremely non cooperative. There are far better options available near that area. They tried to put the ball in my court told me I didn’t pay for every guest, while I was charged even for the child who supposed to stay free of charge. Was promised free parking, being charged $60 for 15 hours staying there.

The hotel was clean and the staff very helpful & friendly. The breakfast was excellent. This property served us well for reboarding our Holland America ship, Ms Zuiderdam.

Great hotel for a trip to Oslo.
