After staying at different hotels of varying quality at varying prices for around two months now, I can say definitively that for the purpose of a relaxed and worthwhile trip, Hotel Gwarna is the best option I have found in all of Europe. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and not just for the hotel- the attached gym and restaurant provide a way to counter the number one thing that made me homesick in Europe, being able to eat (sort of) at home and going to the gym. Combined with the wonderful city around it and easy access to all that one could hope for in terms of convenience, this hotel will give you the best experience available for the most reasonable price. If you're looking for the luxury hotel experience and have a budget to stick to, stay awhile in Legnica at Hotel Gwarna ;)

The Gwarna Sky Hotel is a real gem - it’s located in the Old City so it’s a walking area but the hotel has parking via a spiral ramp that needs concentration! The area around the hotel has many remarkable architectural highlights plus a castle (currently a military teaching centre) and two cathedrals, several restaurants and lots of coffee shops. The hotel bedrooms and bathrooms are fine, there’s an excellent gym and the breakfast is free and very good indeed. Altogether an unexpectedly enjoyable stay, highly recommended.

Before booking: You are uncertain what you will get. Same building has two different hotels like 2-in-1 managed by same reception. This hotel staff will decide if your stay will be bad or miserable. Don't be fooled cause this hotel won't take any responsibility for your or your car safety. The parking is dark and unsafe that has no cameras. Its another gamble for 45zl Old and worn out room and hotel that has a very dated furniture that is barely staying in one place. Dusty and dirty room: counters, shelfs, bathroom and one sheet bedding beds. Towels are so worn out stiff as sand paper. This hotel still added it's name on the towel even tho it's grey. Rooms are located in 5th floor right next to big noisy hotel restaurant so you likely get any sleep. Thin doors. 7:35 you will be woken up by cleaning staff. Basic breakfast don't expect anything. If you encounter the receptionist Damian he will try his best to make your stay an athful one. He won't listen to your words. He can offer you to go and sleep outside in street. Or just offer you to call the Police. He pointed out, that it won't help you and he will turn off all the lights and say that its your own fault for picking this hotel. visiting sauna you should be happy if you get back all your clothes and belongings from staff and got out only with bruises that this hotel staff caused. Karolina receptionist might listen and promise you to solve everything. Yet don't hope much out of this hotel they will ignore you.

It didn't start off very well. I found the hotel OK, located on a corner and spotted the parking garage. So I drove in and followed the sign for the hotel parking. After getting up a few decks, I found a parking spot and there was a big sign and entrance for the hotel. Well the door was locked. There was a key pad so I tried to press a few buttons. Nothing. Very frustrating! So a walk around the garage and find an exit. I went through the door and saw an elevator. It was out of order. So I ended up walking a few floors with my bags, etc to get outside and ended up around the corner from the hotel's main entrance. When I got to the door I had to bang on the door to get buzzed in. I told the guy at the check in what happened and he said, "you should have called! You need a code to enter any hotel door." I told him that he should have sent me an email with the code. He just gave me a grin and a stupid look. A real prize idiot. The fact that I was stranded in a dark garage with my heavy bags, trying to get out, didn't seem to him to have been a problem. They should have a camera in the car parking or at least a bell instead of having the customer in such a situation. The rest of the hotel was better except for the hotel bar which turned out to be a noisy disco. Would I stay there again? Not with fools like that working there!

Our one night stay was part of a longer journey and we required one night’s accommodation. We decided to stay at Hotel Gwarna. For a one night stay this was suitable. We wouldn’t want to stay any longer. The hotel is somewhat dated and can be a little confusing, reception on 4th floor while rooms on levels 4,3,2 etc. We did find the configuration of the hotel unusual. The rooms are big in spacious, a positive and bed comfortable. I am not sure how the hotel is rated 4 stars though.

We reserved this last minute hotel to split up the drive to Warsaw. It was Christmas day when we arrived so everything, and I mean everything was closed around (except the night club-but about that later). The gentleman at the reception was nice, but we somehow got a triple room for the 4 of us that we made work. When I say everything was closed it really was, even the McDonalds 5 minutes by car away. But we should have known that being that it was Christmas day and Poland. No complaints about that as it was our fault. Frustrating was that even after we were able to find a small open store to get something for our children to eat, the receptionist man couldnt even open the restaurant that the hotel had on site and that was directly next to the reception to get us a few silverware pieces and maybe a bowl. I do not believe he did not have the key to it, but hey, maybe he really didn't. The parking was a part of the mall next door that was marked "hotel" so that was great and easy and not expensive. The worst part of the hotel was the night club downstairs, and even though we were on the 5th floor (the hotel literally started on floor 5 and went up), it was extremely loud in our room most part of the night, even though it was Christmas day. It was ironic that nothing in the town was open but this night club and it must have been busy as the music just went on and on and on and it was techno. I am not sure how one would know if there is a party that night or not though
