Warm, accommodating, comfortable, convenient. This chalet, its hosts and owners, are welcoming and so kind. We were there during the infamous power outage, and it felt as if we were with family.
Also, the setting is magical, the rooms are comfortable, and the location is excellent for exploring. If we ever return to Sintra, a stay at Chalet Saudade is an absolute given.
Oh! One more thing: The breakfast at the cafe was absolutely amazing.

Absolutely charming spot from which to enjoy Sintra. Very welcoming and helpful staff. I had a north-facing room with lovely vies of the garden and forest beyond, with glorious birdsong each morning. Wonderful!

Lovely guesthouse hotel only 1 block from the train station. There are only 15 rooms in a former large private residence. Spacious room, no carpeting, modern bathroom. Very pleasant stay.

This Sintra hotel is gorgeous. It has a beautiful garden, nicely decorated lobby.

We absolutely loved this place. Friendly staff. Convenient to walking into Sintra. Quuaint. Big room that led out to the garden area.
Cons: lots of stairs. If you are immobile or have a hard time with stairs I'd suggest a room on main floor.
Our room was on bottom floor and smelled a little musty.

The Chalet Saudade is a feal gem! The property is a beautiful home with 3 floors of guestrooms below the main floor reception and sun room. We had an incredible large suite with entry hall, kitchenette, large bathroom, large bedroom with stone walls, comfy beds and a big screen TV. It also included living room and a door out to a private yard and access to an incredible garden.
Breakfast was included at the nearby Cafe Saudade, and included fresh fruit smoothies, fresh bread, eggs, yogurt, granola and fresh fruit,served by friendly and attentive ladies.
The only drawwback to this absolutely great spot is the semi-treacherous narrow winding stairs down to the room. There are less treacherous stairs up through the garden, but this is a challeng if you have large suitcases. Pack light and enjoy this enchanting place!

The Chalet was just plain awesome. Beautiful room (wish it was on first floor). Walk to everything. The only neg. Was lack of parking but Katrina gave us good options. Would return in a heart beat.

I loved the property, but the staff were wonderful!. If you are looking for a super polished tourist neighborhood, this is not for you. The area is a real city and looks like a real city, not a tourist area. There is grafitti on buildings. That said, the local people are wonderful and helpful, the area felt safe and is absolutely walkable. The food is great and the staff will point you in the direction of great food, even making your reservations if need be. The breakfast meal is wonderful, and I looked forward to sitting in the cafe and planning my day. The room I had was wonderful with high ceilings, plenty of room and extremely comfortable. I highly recommend this establishment, especially if you want to be close to the train or bus station. I will be staying here again, hopefully.

Wonderful team working at this soectacular chalet. Room was cozy, bed comfortable, linnen extra soft. Clean and wrlcoming.Super tasty breakfast and wonderful service at cafe. Common areas are well maintained and enjoyable. Close to the train srtion, bus stop in front of chalet and all Sintra attractions near by. 10 of 10!❤️❤️❤️
