Everyone at the hotel was so nice and helpful. Especially Hillary was outstanding. She was so kind and always there when we needed some help. The location is excellent and close to the market, restaurants, and stations. Although it’s right in the busy part of Porto, their sound proof is great and it was very quiet inside. Very simple room and no fridge. The staff kindly put our wine in the kitchen fridge for us though.

Great location in the center of Porto! Staff were very friendly and the place was clean and modern. Only downside was the terrace which did not have the nicest view and the chairs and table were falling apart so it was not very usable.

Overall the Gate was nice. Excellent walkable location. The rooms are basic and small but that was expected. One complaint is the bathroom lighting is horrible, could hardly tell the lights were on. The room had everything we needed.

We knew the hotel was going to be “minimalist”. It was amazing!!! Definitely recommend. It was clean, staff was very friendly, and it was in a great location. Will stay here again when we come back!
