Albany Hotel

We enjoyed our stay thank you. A beautiful area and large room for the three of us. Love the water pressure in the shower, so good! Lots of stairs with heavy luggage though. We had dinner around the corner at Frenchies which was delicious and the breakfast at the linked hotel around the corner was great. Tram stop is just at the top of the street which easily got us to the base of the castle. Edinburgh was amazing!

This is second time staying at the property within 2 months of each other. Love the location, highly recommend as it is on a quiet street but walkable to everything, even the train station. My only complaint is the first time I was in an amazing room, very large... so I booked the same type of room only to be 100% disappointed as it was so small. The bed was so small and hard, the bathroom was tiny - everything was small which one usually expects in European hotels. I spoke with the front desk the day of check in and was told that each room is different, but is was so off. I spoke with the front desk the next day and was advised I was originally in the newer renovated section and this time the old section - was told next time to ask for the new section. Boy had I wished I had known this as it really did affect our time at the hotel. I would recommend the hotel, but if you go make sure to ask for the new section as it is really makes a world of difference.

We loved our stay at the Albany Hotel! This was our second time in Edinburgh and we loved how the Albany was small and felt very homely, as opposed to some of the more commercial chains we have stayed at. The staff were great, the room was a great size, very clean, and the bathtub was a game changer after walking around in the cold all day! We will definitely be back to stay at the Albany again.

Very friendly and helpful staff

Very poor WiFi (basement room, 106) and mobile reception. Reception required £100 pre-authorisation deposit not stated in booking terms. No bedside light - up spots above bed, felt a bit harsh. Otherwise room tidy, warm and quiet so “ok” as I got a low ish rate.
