Very close to the bus station where you can catch the Jacobite cruise bus and other tour buses. I do suggest that you advertise to people that there is no on premises parking but the car park is a couple blocks away. The people were so courteous and the attached restaurant had such delicious Scottish fare. Wonderful place to stay.

Black Friers was a nice location. It was close to train station. Room was clean and staff were friendly. We ate dinner there one night. I recommend the grilled salmon. I am not one who eats the skin on salmon, but it was cooked so crispy that I ate it all. It was delicious.

Very cute and clean room. Not large, but was very nice. Above the restaurant with easy check in and check out with a good location. We did have a car and the closest overnight parking is in a ramp about a 5-8 minute walk away so you are aware. It cost about 8 pounds for a night. We also dined in the restaurant as well, which was really convenient and the food was mediocre. We had the continental breakfast in the morning which did not include any hot food.

Strange set up, have to check in via the restaurant, there’s no lobby. 2 flights of stairs to get to the lowest possible level which poses trouble when you have to haul suitcases. Also have physical cut keys since it’s an older hotel. My room’s back door was unlocked when I went in, and none of my keys would lock it so had to get staff to come and lock it themselves. Walls are paper thin, so every movement and creak sounds like someone is in your room (old building so makes sense). Location was great, but just not somewhere I would stay again if I had a choice.

Not sure I understand all the rave reviews… this was place was fine. It is above a pub and on a road with thin windows and quite an old building, so it’s noisy from all angles. The bedrooms were clean and nicely styled but quite small. The bathroom was spacious and appeared newly renovated but smelled strongly of mildew. Breakfast was okay but nothing to write home about. Staff were nice and kindly left us a bottle of bubbly as it was a special occasion.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is no lift so you’ll have to carry your bags (or ask for help). The place is conveniently located with a Spar store on the next block. The room was super cute and comfortable, but a little dusty. It’s an older building, so things are a bit older inside. I’d stay here again and recommend to family and friends.

The Black Friars has been our best hotel experience so far in our 2 week vacation in Scotland. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and had a lovely rainshower bathroom feature. One can hear some noise from the hallway & a room above. Not a deal breaker. There is no elevator. The onsite restaurant has a nice selection of entrees, very good tasting food and is reasonably priced. My traveling companion has high praise for the braised short ribs and their truffle fries with Parmesan cheese! Next, Black Friars is located in area close to the train and bus stations, Old Leakey's Bookstore, and a variety of shops. It is within easy walking distance of Inverness Castle and several interesting churches. I would certainly stay here again and recommend it's facilities to others.

The rooms were fantastic! Clean, comfy and modern. The beds were extremely comfortable and warm. We loved our in room tea/biscuit upon arrival. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. We definitely would stay here again. The one night we had supper in the restaurant was not great. Our soup was heavily salted and bread was cold and bit stale. But to be fair, we came in late and tired. Possibly if we had arrive earlier may have had a better experience. Overall, a great experience 5/5 for the hotel. Will definitely be back.
