voco SEOUL MYEONGDONG by IHG, an IHG Hotel

Nice hotel but very busy.

Close to subway line, affordable option close to myeongdong.

I love the location. We always stay here when we visit seoul. Namdaemun street shopping is right across the street. Seoul Station is walking distance and close to subway terminals.

From the moment we checked in until checkout, service was top notch, A+++. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Restaurant buffet had a vast selection with both korean and western selections. Impressed with the services offered by the hotel....luggage pick up/drop off, GS store 24 hours in the hotel, business area with printer, lounge on the 18th floor. The airport limosine bus stops right in front of the hotel, making it very convenient. The subway entrance is one minute away. Mr. Han, the general manager, greets his customers and treats everyone like a valued guest.

Everything was beautiful.

Reception staff were friendly and helpful . Room was clean and welcoming but was on the small side .Complimentary water and soft drink in mini fridge was a nice touch . Bed was comfortable . However there were no power points / usb chargers on either side of the bed which made it a little inconvenient for those of us who likes to use phone /tablet in bed and charge at the same time . Overall we had a lovely stay . Hotel is in great location.

At the doorstep of Hoehyeon station, so it’s very accessible. Clean and comfortable room although single use amenities are not provided. Breakfast buffet had a good spread and most items are well done.

Staffs are very nice and helpful.

On my last day at the hotel, they had too many guests that were noisy and breakfast time was too rushed due to those rude guests and their families... Had to wait a long time to get coffee from the machines.

The hotel was wonderful, the pool, fitness center, restaurant and breakfast were wonderful! Only complaint was the lack of attention to restocking our room with glasses, cups, waters and teas. Otherwise, enjoyed our stay!

Overall this hotel is great. Clean and easy to find. Located at Meyongdong which is close to lots of shopping areas. I would like to specially thank Luna and Rachael at reception. They are great staff whom you can reach out for questions, very nice and professional. Will definitely come back to the hotel next time when I visit Seoul.

Beautiful new hotel. Great pool, gym and club lounge for coffee, wine and snacks with a Jew of Seoul Tower. The only drawback was the staff knowledge. I had to feel them the club lounge served alcohol beverages and had a happy hour. Additionally, I got the wrong directions form two different staff members on where to catch the bus to the airport which happens to be directly across the street. Unfortunately I walked several block with all my luggage in tow until I found someone on the street that spoke English.

Terrible check-in experience. The counter agent could not find our two reservations. Made us wait 20 minutes. No apology, no offer of an upgrade given the problem, no offer of a free drink at the lounger while we waited. None of the counter agents were busy, but none helped to obviously ill-trained one we dealt with. After waiting 20 minutes we were made to feel that it was all our fault (which it was not as we had all the Hotels.com reservation confirmation to show the agent). We spoke Koran, so that was not a language issue. Also, please note that the beds are not king size as understood in most parts of the world. The beds are much smaller. There are lots of other hotels at this price point, and lower, with far better service. Go for those and avoid the grumpy front desk at the VOCO Seoul Myengdong.

You can’t control room temperature as you want. This is a disappointing fact.
