The property is very nice, and it does feel like a true 5-star property with under 20 rooms and nice amenities. My experience was probably out of the ordinary but I genuinely did not enjoy my time here. I booked the lowest priced room (by choice, it was only 1 night and I planned to explore the city most of the day). The room was small, and obviously does not include the same spa amenities are the more expensive rooms, nor does it include breakfast which will be an extra 23 Euro.
I woke up at 1:30am to use the restroom and the toilet broke, causing a loud water running noise to go on until the staff could fix it, over 40 minutes from start to finish. I had to wake up and get dressed so the staff could enter the room and fix it. I received a very disingenuous apology afterwards. I had a somewhat early international flight the next day so this was inconvenient.
At breakfast the next morning, my meal was improperly cooked and I had to decline the plate and leave quickly to catch my flight as I didn't have time to wait for the food to be re-made.
Also, the service in the restaurant is VERY slow unless you are comfortable waving over the staff each time you need something or to get the bill. For both meals there, it was only one server staffed for the entire restaurant so they are too busy to attend to everyone as expected.

Beautiful tranquil oasis in Barcelona. Short downhill walk to metro to get to the centre. Pool and garden beautiful, food in restaurant great, staff professional and friendly. Rooms and beds very comfortable. I would stay again when next in Barcelona!

Fantastic hotel on outskirts of city. Close to metro for easy access to downtown city area. Peaceful neighbourhood. Lovely staff who are extremely welcoming and accommodating. Restaurant is excellent too ! Definitely recommend.

This hotel was so unique. It not only has a fun history and featured in a book, the rooms are so dated and the steam shower was great to come home to to relax. Dinner and breakfast were all perfect and added to the appeal of this place. Would def come back to stay

Charming atmosphere in a historical previous residence with a backyard covered area for lounging and dining (excellent food!) surrounded by fruit trees and a beautiful garden. The rooms were comfy with all the extras you need to make it special. The staff were accommodating and friendly and always willing to make the stay enjoyable. They were so patient with a couple of later nights we spent having drinks outside with our good friends from home who met us in Barcelona--never complained or asked us to "wrap it up"! The lobby was well decorated to preserve the original decor but with modern touches. In the hotel's library you will find the famous book "La Sombra del Viento" written by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, a well known Spanish and International Author from the early 1900's. The location is a bit on the edge of the city but it was a nice respite from the hustle & bustle of a very busy Barcelona.
