There is self check-in and check-out. Breakfast was good. The location was exceptional as it's near the train station and bus terminal for our tours. Cozy rooms. Would recommend to friends and family visiting Zurich.

Great location as it is only 5-6 minutes walk to the train station. You can access Old Town Zurich by walking through the Main Train Station.
The hotel has limited lobby hours with staff to assist getting room key. No complimentary water, ice, or basic hygiene items. No AC, just a stand alone fan provide for the room. For summer months, it will get very hot. The room is small and basic…. Elevator is often slow and busy in the morning.

Would not recommend staying at this Hotel as a family with a young baby, or in summertime. Checkin process was fine, however even though I specifically requested a cot in the room this was not provided. I had to wait over an hour for this to be provided, and it was an extremely old travel cot that my husband and I had to put together ourselves, and once done, we realised it was broken. We then had to go back to reception to get a suitable one (still old but not broken), which by this time had taken over 1.5hrs. Our 1year old baby missed her nap and was extremely upset as a result. This was a big hinderance as we only had 24hrs in Zurich and the schedule we had planned was now ruined. There was only 1 high chair in the breakfast area which was in use, so there was also nowhere for our baby to sit at breakfast.
The hotel and the rooms were also incredibly hot (our temperature monitor registering 33 degrees), and despite a dyson fan being in each room this barely made a difference and was extremely loud. No AC. Wouldn't recommend in the summer at all.

This hotel was made to look nice in the on-line pictures. Not so, quite run-down. Very hot in the rooms. Thank goodness there was a fan in the room. A well-worn hotel. Definitely a disappointment. Breakfast was good. Hotel is close to the train station and walkable to restaurants .

Stay was comfortable, breakfast buffet had many options but they really should give one of employee that serves breakfast some hospitality one on one.
We where getting breakfast when all of the sudden this lady starts raising her voice at us, and basically fighting with us because the lid of the breads is closed. She did this 2 times... funny thing? We hadn't even touched the bread area, it wasn't us thay left it open but she was just plain pissed because the lid was being closed. Not even a good morning.... directly ro raising her voice at 7am....
Overall good stay, just beware of closing the bread lid, because you will be reprimanded.

Hotel Montana is quite close to the train station and walkable to old town, that is why we picked it. It was not the nicest neighborhood. The young lady who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. There was no AC and the fan provided didn’t do much. The breakfast was quite good.

There was a leak on the roof which was covered with duck tape. No hand soap and shampoo for two days. Water draining on the faucet was very slow. I would not stay there again. Area was on the center but they need to improve service.

It was well located with respect to our transportation via train and bus needs. It is not fancy with minimal guest room amenities. However, the breakfast was excellent with lots of otions. Our room was listed as a courtyard room that turned out to be a parking area for Hertz and delivery area for the CO-OP grocery store around the corner.

Our room was in the top floor in a very hot annex. Even in the moderately warm temperatures of our visit it was hardly bearable. There is no AC. We had no curtains on one of the windows and a broken external blind. We mentioned this to the staff , but it was clear they were going to do nothing and they didn’t! The windows open straight out with no safety bars.I would avoid the hotel

The Hotel Montana like eveyone said is very close to the train station. It was nice not having to lug my suitcase for blocks to get to the hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Before I arrived in Zurich, I made several calls to the hotel and they were always very very gracious in answering all my questions. The only problem was there are no air conditioning in the rooms. Switzerland was having a heat wave in June, and even though we had a fan, it still was fairly warm trying to sleep.
