Wonderful location next to a river, beautiful old building, very friendly and attentive staff, clean and cosy room, very comfortable bed, excellent breakfast (much better than the usual continental - high quality food) with great coffee!

Very friendly staff, great food (and kind enough to serve me late in the evening). Amazing place. Very quiet. Seems to be recently renovated. Spacious bedroom and bathroom. Nice small breakfast.

Great stay in the middle of the forest next to a small river. Has no air conditioner, but was not required during our visit in July. We slept with the window open, with the soothing sound of the nearby river. Staff very nice, especially the lady serving food. Very quick check in and check out. Great breakfast too.

My wife was recovering from a serious accident at the beginning of our trip in Luzern and the Hotel de la Truite was the perfect spot for some rest and recuperation. It is located within the beautiful Arieuse River valley, surrounded by impressive mountains but only a super efficient 20 mins train ride or car trip from Neuchatel. The mother and two adult sons who own and run the hotel are very professional, treated us as family and the chef from Paris was excellent. We stayed during the very cold period with the front from Siberia blanketing the area but were warm and cosy inside, particularly watching the soft snow falling each evening. Very nice hotel and people and we would love to go again.

This is a fantastic place to stay. Although I was on Business I could see this was an excellent hotel to stay for a holiday, especially if you like walking and the countryside. The only downside for me not speaking French, was the lack of English from the staff. However, this is a good way to learn and we got by.

We are a 53 and 56 years old couple who likes to hike. We stayed in the hotel (which is very small and intimate) for 5 nights, and mainly hiked during the days, in the near-by region. The hotel is located in the middle of a valley with a stream passing 50 meters from it. It is actually the middle point of one of the most popular hikes in the Jura mountain region.
the hotel is located within 300-400 meters from the railway station with a train passing in each direction every hour.making transportation to and from it very easy. you receive a free train tiket for the whole canton for the period of your stay, so we nearly did not use the rented car during our stay.
the place is very clean, and the staff is very helpful even if their English is not perfect. Breakfast .vas beautifully served, and there is a possibility for eating in the attached restauant. (We had one supper that was great)

The hotel has been recently and very nicely renovated - this is not so obvious when you look at the photos. Hotel is located in a quiet charming village on the banks of Areuse and is a perfect place to stay if you plan hiking along Areuse or around.

L’ensemble des personnes s’occupant de l’hôtel ainsi que du restaurant sont extrêmement serviables. Ils sont arrangeant sachant que je n’avais pas des horaires de bureau et sont très aimables.
Ils sont chaleureux et les repas sont très bons et copieux.
Je recommande cet hôtel qui sort de la ville et côté nature et dépaysement vous y serez plus que bien.
C’est très calme et l’Areuse qui borde l’hôtel avec son cours d’eau est tout simplement reposant. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés car c’est un parfait endroit que ce soit pour des balades à pieds ou à vélo ou bien pour le business.
Je n’ai malheureusement pris que des vidéos de l’hôtel, je ne peux donc poster des photos mais jetez un coup d’œil aux avis ainsi que sur les photos déjà présentes sur les précédents commentaires, cela correspond parfaitement bien avec mon commentaire.

Nettes kleines, gut revoviertes Hotel. Die Leute dort sind sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer sind angenehm groß und es ist sehr ruhig dort. Frühstück ist im Preis inbegriffen und gut.
Die Lage ist etwas exponiert, dafür aber auch idyllisch gelegen.
