Reves Gourmands is (hands down) one of the most incredible places I stayed while on vacation in Switzerland. Go for Bob's amazing dinner at the Host's Table...go to sit in the gardens...use it as a base for exploring Martigny and the other villages...or go to simply find peace and relax. Welcoming owners...very relaxing atmosphere.

From the outside the hotel looks very ordinary, but do not be fooled. The dining experience is absolutely fabulous and on a par with top Michelin-rated restaurants (as testified by my colleagues who are lucky enough to have experienced such things). If you stay here you must book a private dinner. The owners are very friendly and the rooms spacious.

We arrived in the evening [dark] and found great difficulty in finding the hotel as it is well off the road. The majority of the people of the town of Martigny did not speak any English so without Sat Nav it was only through my poor grasp of French that we found our destination. This is not the Hotels fault and the service provided by the owners was excellent, perhaps a word of warning on booking to research the final destination would be of benefit.

Found the B&B very easily. Host was very welcoming even though we arrived very early we got checked in and shown our room. Room was immaculately clean and en suite was large. Loved the shower which lit up to indicate the water temperature. Breakfast was continental with ample choice and was fresh. We had a lovely two night stay in a great room with amazing views and charming hosts. What's not to like?

This is one of those places that turns out to be far more than you expected. If you are staying in this area, I would stay anywhere else. It is located in a very quite neighbourhood and has plenty of room for parking. It's set in a beautiful suburban building, the rooms are of good size and well presented. The biggest asset is the owners. Bob and Cecile are amazing hosts. They are both passionate about what they are doing and it show in everything they do. The service is one on one personnel and Cecile will go out of her way to make sure you have everything you want. I recommend having the evening meal prepared by Bob. He will prepare a meal for you that belongs in a 5 star hotel, he is an amazing chef. Breakfast in the morning was everything you could ask for to start the day. Fresh and lots of it. This place is a well hidden gem.

Rêves Gourmands is more B&B than hotel. The guest rooms are rooms in the house of the charming, friendly, cheerful hosts, Cecile and Bob. Our room was large and cosy and the bathroom seemed to go on forever. Entering the room evoked the feeling of going into the warm comfort of our own familiar bedroom; we wanted to pull the duvet up to our chins and listen to the wind whipping the trees in the darkness outside. But the most wonderful experience at Rêves Gourmands was, for us, the dinner. Dinner is something one has to book at least 24 hours in advance. It is a 4-course meal, planned by the chef (Bob), and it is a surprise for the guests. The first guest to book chooses the price range. We were 15 to 20 people seated at a long table in the large kitchen/ dining room/ living room. The fact that people spoke different languages mattered little. Cecile, fluent in French, English and German, introduced the menu items. We savoured the intriguing and transporting flavours of each item in our meal. In between courses, we sipped delicious local wine and chatted, largely with an interesting and well-travelled couple who spoke excellent English. In the morning, we gathered again at the long table for breakfast, though now not everyone arrived at the same time. Breakfast, good and satisfying, more homey than exotic, eased us back into the reality of our next travel day. And now, our brief stay at Rêves Gourmands lives on in our memory and in our dreams - a true "Rêve Gourmand".

We did find it a little difficult to find this B&B, our satnav seemed a bit confused in the mountains:-) Once we arrived our hosts were waiting & greeted us with friendly smiles. Cecile spoke excellent english, Henri didn't speak english but was still welcoming. Our room was modern, comfortable & clean & the bathroom was good with a good sized walk-in shower. Unfortunately, we did not get to eat in the evening, as we hadn't pre-booked, maybe next time. There is no reception, you walk straight into their dining room. Later that night I had forgotten to ask if they could freeze my ice blocks, so I left a message with them in a bag in the dining room, & next morning they were given back to me all frozen. We also, unexpectedly, had to leave earlier than when breakfast was to begin, but Henri saw us packing our car & said we could eat early if we wanted. Breakfast was lovely. There was also parking outside & we could see our car from our room. We also used the free wifi. We would definitely like to stay again & maybe in the winter, for skiing.

We arrived by train, not realizing how far away the B&B was and we got lost because the directions we received were for the local train not the SBB. We don't speak French but finally found someone that could help us. The owners are very nice and the room had a great view. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom and shower spacious. The morning breakfast was fantastic with many choices. We walked to town and found one place for dinner but again not speaking French, we did not know what we were ordering.
