I was traveling alone, and did not need any fancy accommodations. This hotel turned out to be quite a gem for the no-frills seeker. I got a room with two twin beds (only got to sleep in one) for barely over $30 USD a night. Breakfast was served downstairs, but my stay didn't include breakfast, which suited me just fine, as there was a 7-Eleven right outside. A cup of cafe Americano, a roasted sweet potato, and a tea egg from the convenience store made a complete breakfast for about $3 USD. The room was clean and pretty soundproof. I was a bit concerned about the place being on a busy city street, but there was virtually no street noise heard inside my room. Transportation-wise, Taipei is a very walkable city, and bus service is available about 200 to 500 meters from the hotel, depending on where you need to travel. The closest MRT rail station is about 500 meters away to the south. As for airport transport, there is a direct bus that stops 500 meters from the hotel that took me to terminal 2 at Taoyuan International Airport (it also stops at terminal 1) for NT 98, which is about $3 USD. Unbeatable deal, considering that a taxi ride would easily cost 15 times as much.

conveniently located in the heart of Taipei, not too far from a metro station. Breakfast was ample and tipically local. However the building showed its age. Cleanliness was questionable and the size and quality of the bedding was awful. Hard as a rock, and too short if you re over 5'9".

I travel to Taipei for work regularly and stayed here on 3 different occasions in 3 different room types when other hotels are sold out. This has to be one the poorer performing hotels in Taipei. If you think you are getting a good deal - you really aren't because it's really not worth a lot and in fact overpriced for what you get. The staff seems nice and professional but that's the only positive thing. The rooms are dated, not clean and there is a musty smell in every room I stayed at, including the hall way. Ventilation is very poor hence it's more humid inside than outside. If you dare open the windows, then you will invite endless of mosquitos because there is no screen on the window. Most walls have very visible cracks with evidence of poor patching. I am not sure if this is the result of earthquakes in Taipei but it's the only hotel I've seen that has a lot of cracks which lead one to question its seismic safety. The floors not not leveled, including the bathroom, which lead to water accumulation on the bathroom floors. Sinks and vanities are poor designed, so even washing hands will get water everywhere. Housekeeping barely touch up the room with any decide cleaning. I had rooms with sticky tables and a wet wipe to clean it ended up looking filthy. It's very evident that they don't even clean the common and frequent touch points. Will I stay here again? Only if there are no other hotels are available.
