What Guests Say About Their Stay

We had a really lovely stay at 4U Resort in Lamai. We booked the Family Triple and lucked out with a fantastic location close to the restaurant, pool, and beach. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, with more than enough room for a couple staying a full week without feeling cramped. One thing to note: there’s a wide variety of room types here. Some are in a motel-style building, while others are superior sea-view rooms. Definitely pay attention when booking so you get the setup you want. The pool isn’t massive, but on a hot Koh Samui afternoon, it feels exactly the right size. The private beach is the real star, though. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, and the Gulf of Thailand water is unbelievably warm and inviting. It’s the kind of place where you mean to swim for five minutes and end up floating for an hour. The on-site restaurant was solid, though a bit pricier than nearby spots. Breakfast isn’t included, which would have been nice, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker. Having massage services right on site was a huge plus, and prices were very competitive compared to the local shops. Overall, this is a great beachfront option in a quieter part of Lamai. You’re close to plenty of restaurants, and just a short cab ride from busier areas and the night market if you want more action. 10/10, would happily claim a sunbed and lose track of time all over again.

The staff were friendly and helped us several times. They booked two fun excursions for us. The onsite restaurants is outdoors under a roof right in the beach. The food was very tasty and affordable. The front office/reception desk is open 7 am to 7 pm only, so be careful not misplace your room key. You could end up sleeping on the beach! Not the worst thing that could happen, I suppose. It is beautiful there.

We stayed here because it’s on a more quieter part of the island. Overall we’d say this property feels like a motel with good amenities. We stayed in the top floor standard room. The room was clean but could use some touching up. The coffee station was not ideal, we had to move the kettle to a wall shelf that was very un level because the electric outlet was too far and a very short cord. There were lack of electrical outlets. We had a “king size “ bed that was two twin beds together but they were different heights and moved away from the wall whenever we sat on it. The bathroom took some get used to as the shower is directly next to the toilet and no enclosure so the entire floor and toilet seat got soaked when taking a shower. We stayed 4 nights, asked for our room to be cleaned once on our third day, ( they change sheets very 3 days and room cleaning very 2 days), left at 8 am came back at 6pm and was still not cleaned. Sign in the room says rooms will be cleaned before 5pm . Our room was also not available when we checked in at 2, we had to wait over an hour. The room balcony was dirty, and the chair cushions were stained. On a positive note, the staff are very friendly helpful. The food in the restaurant was really good. The pool was clean although on the small side. The beach loungers were nice but a bit uncomfortable, we preferred the bean bag loungers instead. The massages by the beach were great. I’d say for the price it’s great. We would definitely return.

On arrival when we saw our room we were super disappointed because the door had gaps in and the bathroom was a wet room so that’s a disadvantage. HOWEVER. The location of the hotel was fantastic. Our minds quickly changed from “we hate it” to “best value for money” as we paid <£35 a night. The pool was great, they offered free snorkelling kit and games for beach activities. I’d recommend this place for a “cheap stay!”. Staff were very friendly as a bonus and we rented a bike from the hotel for 200 THB a day. Good value for money all around
