From the moment we arrived at the hotel reception, we knew it was a special place. The staff were exceptional! The hotel is right on the river with amazing views. We had a room with a big terrace and sun loungers overlooking the pool and river, which was perfect for cocktails and river boats watching! The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The cherry on top was the pool, so beautiful and there was nothing better than starting our day with a very early morning swim, when the “hotel” was still sleeping, the waitress would bring us a coffee…bliss!
The location is great, walking distance to Kao Sarn Road without all the noise and raucous people..Grab taxis are very cheap to get you places and the boat in front of the hotel gets you to temples and a great shopping centre! this hotel was the only 4 stars in our 2 weeks holiday in Thailand, but it was everything like a 5 stars, don’t hesitate and book it!
We stayed 3 nights here for temples, Chinatown and Kao sarn rd and 1 night at the Eastin phayathai to be in the city centre for shopping. Great experience, loved Bangkok.

Nice hotel. All the staff extremely nice . The tours that we did : tuk tuk night and temples with Kathy guide tour were excellent. She is very knowledgeable, explains very well and is super pleasant .
We will definitely recommend the hotel and the tour guide.

Very well appointed rooms esp the ones overlooking the river with excellent amenities. Special shout out to the staff who are friendly, helpful and considerate. Man, Hobbie, Mila, New, Piaow and others in the team were all hard working and provided excellent service.

Nice riverside location, with easy access to some of the main tourist sites, and a couple of river ferry lines. The hotel feels pretty fancy. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though a bit awkwardly designed (lack of hooks for towels, weird step in the bathroom).

We stayed here for one night and it was perfect. We chose the hotel for it's close location to the synagogue (across the road). The room and pool area were lovely and the staff were so helpful and accommodating to our requirements. The only negative I can think of is that you can hear what's going on in the hallways quite clearly from the room, but this didn't bother us. I would 100% recommend this hotel. ALSO, I had the best cappuccino of my entire stay in Thailand at the poolside bar.

If you are making your first trip to Bangkok, I highly recommend this as the place to stay. It puts you right by the river, which is a much quieter much more interesting place to be than the chaos of downtown. The hotel itself is very clean and very nice with excellent service. You can enjoy a quiet day just hanging out by the pool. You can take the river taxi to any number important. Or you can walk into the madness of the tourist neighborhood nearby I have stayed here several times and always enjoy it. The laundry service is too expensive so on that I’d just take advantage of the small laundry services on the street nearby.

The room was lovely but I wouldn’t pay again for a balcony river view…average view at best…perhaps the location though. Staff were fabulous. We didn’t eat there. Very comfortable room.

Riva Surya has a beautiful location, and exceptionally friendly & helpful staff. The restaurant is open all day, and has a variety of dishes that are very well prepared. The room was very comfortable. The hotel was undergoing renovations during my stay, to the pool, as well to the rooms. Periodic maintenance is of course necessary, and it is unfortunate if one encounters it during one’s stay, but on the bright side, I think Riva Surya will be an exceptional place to stay when the work is completed.

Great costumer service. Very quiet and close to everything. My only recommendation will be to have a spa room. I had a Thai Traditional massage which was great but they used the area next to the pool and it was noisy since there were kids at the pool, plus they used the sofas that are not a massage bed. So they definitely need a spa room. Overall great hotel.
