Woodlawn Villas

So pleased we stayed a at Woodlawn! - it’s a beautiful peaceful small resort set in lovely grounds and surroundings, the pool is gorgeous and we had it to ourselves most mornings! staff are fantastic and sunny was very helpful- picked us up and dropped us back to ferry which was great. Deluxe rooms are lovely with everything you need for a comfortable stay. There are lots of places to eat and drink around (within 5-10mins walk)so not sure why previous reviews say it’s away from everything- it’s not!!) beautiful chalok bay is 10mins away and easy to reach other beaches too- much preferred this area to Sairee which was very busy and more commercialised. What a fantastic place.

Located in extensive grounds and within walking distance of bars and a beach, this place is a, good base for a stay on Koh Tao. The rooms are large and comfortable and the bathroom adequate with toiletries provided. The pool is a pleasant area with loungers, umbrellas and even a few kids toys, and the free pick up from the pier was appreciated. It would benefit from some upgrade and housekeeping and cleaning definitely needs improving, but it offers a pleasant stay for a reasonable price.

Staff were excellent and very helpful

My only complaint was that there was no bar by the pool, but its ok, can’t have everything

Very clean and good for the price

Waking up to the singing of the birds, palm trees and lush forest. Very clean rooms. 5 stars for all. Area is tucked away from tourist hotspots, lots of local life to witness. Nearby beach is fantastic.

Overall it was okay. But the resort felt a little unfinished and the service wasn’t the most attentive. We had to wait 30min for somebody to check us in. We had a tv in our room but didn’t work. And the hot water wasn’t working either

Great property that is about a 5 mins drive from ferry but a 25 min walk. It’s on the quiet side on the island- which we loved! We received a free upgrade upon arrival which was fantastic and very grateful. The room was spacious and bed was comfortable! A/C worked great. The owners and workers took great care of the property.

Had a really good 4 night stay. From the time we arrived until the time we left the staff were helpful and friendly. We were upgraded to a villa as there was not any hot water in our superior room (we were told this upon arrival). The villa was clean, comfortable and made all the difference to our stay. My husband left his Bluetooth headphones in the bedroom and only realised when were on the catarmaran to Koh Samui. The staff were fantastic in getting them returned to us. They boxed them up and put them on the ferry and we picked them up from the port at Koh Samui the following day. Completely over and above normal customer service. We expected to return to Koh Tao to collect them. Big thanks to the staff - 6 star service.

Staff where very friendly and helpful! Our villa was lovely and spacious and had a brilliant big bed! The location is good but you have to be perpared to walk quite alot or hire a bike which alot of people do! My only comment is the shower wasnt great the temperature of the water went for one extreme to the other! I would definitely come back here.

Can not say enough good things about my stay here. I never leave reviews but because they were amazing i am! They had a book with places, beaches, markets, and restaurants near by as well as activities! This was so helpful! Free water every day! They upgraded our room to villa as well since it was really slow season. The pool was excellent and all staff were wonderful. There was also a baby puppy wondering around too which was the icing on the cake!! Will definitely be back to Woodlawn when i return to Koh tao again.

Our stay at Woodlawn was great! The hotel is very neat and situated in a quiet location but close enough to all the buzz of Koh Tao. The staff were great and it was very easy to get a good quality scooter to zip around on. Only thing that wasn't perfect was the pool. It may have just been due to the rains that had just happened.

Our time at Woodlawn Villas was really enjoyable. Their rooms are very comfortable and clean. The pool was lovely and we enjoyed swimming in the water amidst the sounds of nature. Located down a quite street, and outside of the main hustle and bustle of Koh Tao's towns, it's a perfect place to enjoy some peace and quite. By walking the location is about 15 min away from Chalok Bann Kao Bay and other south beaches, 20 min away from Mae Haad Pier, and 30 min away from Sairee Beach/Village. No motorbike required if you enjoy walking and don't mind the heat! The only recommendation we have is regarding room cleaning knowing when to change the towels. In an effort to conserve water, they do not wash the bed sheets or towels each day, which is a practice we prefer. However, we did have a towel that was soiled beyond reuse and for 3 days tried to get it changed. Leaving it on the floor to indicate as such, we came back each afternoon to find the towel put back on the hook or shelf without being replaced. Even leaving the towel inside the shower floor didn't get the point across. This was a minor thing, as they provided us with four towels upon check-in, but something to improve upon as they continue serving guests. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would go there again if revisiting Koh Tao.

Property is set back away from the main areas but still easily accessible.

Overall the room was extremely spacious, extra large comfy bed and big shower. Wonderful big balcony to chill in the evenings aswell. Minor inconveniences - in our 5 nights there the towels weren't changed once (they have an eco-policy but said towels would be changed every 2 days), wifi wasn't particularly strong, room sometimes wasn't cleaned until near 5pm some days, shower pressure was weak. The area and Koh Tao in general is beautiful. The location of the property means it's really quiet, and you get a great night's sleep. It's a bit of a distance from all the major beaches so about a 30 minute walk in any direction, much easier if you're brave enough to hire a moped. Pool was nice after a day out in the heat. The area is a bit hilly and mucky but we managed to see a giant tortoise on site. Many amazing local restaurants nearby - recommend the treehouse cafe and Tuktha for cheap, tasty local Thai food.

This place is ideal for solo traveling or a couple. It’s basic and affordable but exactly what I was searching for after spending 4000baht at a Koh Tao resort. Very friendly staff and knowledgeable about the area. It’s a short walk to nearby places to eat and drink but 25min to Mae Haad. I would stay again. So safe I slept with the sliding door unlocked.
