I was blown away when I first entered the property. The luscious greenery mixed with the stone paved roads were so inviting. The security guard was welcoming and let us in after verifying my information. Karen, at the front desk, knew my name before I even said it! Near reception was the stunning infinity pool. I wanted to dip right in but then I noticed the spectacular ocean view and was just mesmerized. Now let's talk about the villa itself. I've never stayed in, let alone, seen anything like it. You walk into a grand living room with wooden spiral staircases leading to the upstairs. This is where the master bedroom was located with a king-sized bed and a huge onsuite. The room had double doors that led to a balcony overlooking the pool and ocean. The rest of the upstairs had some windows and a creepy closet where the door a squeaked when opening and closing it. Then, there was a closed off room, which would probably be available for those you book a 3-bedroom stay. I booked a two-bedroom. The other room was located downstairs with an onsuite. The kitchen would be a chefs paradise as it had a huge island and came equip with all essentials, such as pots, pans, and cutlery. The showstopper is undoubtedly the view that awaits you when you open the double doors in the living room. You are presented with an infinity pool with a view of the ocean in the background! The restaurant had great food. Shoutout Chef Parris! Would stay again!
Our stay was wonderful. The Villa itself was set within a gated enclave, well equipped and well furnished, large and comfortable with welcome A/C in the bedroom. The outdoor veranda and infinity pool deck has a beautiful view and is a haven to sit and watch the birds in the surrounding foliage, with humming birds coming to the feeders, blissfully relaxing ! We visited The Pavilion restaurant three times for dinner and enjoyed delicious meals , cocktails and friendly service. Our compliments to Head Chef Paris and his assistant Nish who took the time to meet us and tell us about the island, as well a cooking up a mean Lobster Tail ! Thanks also to the operations team who responded really quickly when contacted for help and made our stay stress free. A recommend for Taylor’s Rental, who met us at the airport with a Suzuki Jeep, so easy going, also for Junior at Unique Island Tours for a great day tour and especially Hummingbird feeding at his sanctuary, also Veronika at Being with Horses for a brilliant horseback ride in the surf, last but not least to Carlina and Randy at Tonci Chocolate for a special afternoon learning about chocolate making in Tobago, the chocolate tea is out of this world ! All these folks looked after us very well and clearly love their island. Overall The Villas at Stonehaven is a very well run, very well situated and luxurious base from which to explore the delights of Tobago and must be one of the best on the Island…we would certainly recommend !
If you want to stay on the property and have the dining options in house definitely recommend staying on the days the restaurant is open otherwise, the hotel reception will be more than happy to make recommendations for restaurants on the island, make reservations, and even arrange transportation if needed.
