Ilci Residence Hotel

The Hotel was in a great location and an easy walk to the train station and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful. Good selection for breakfast. Our room was a little noisy as it was near the lift and stairwell. Good value for money.

Positives: very nice staff, big TV, clean and good location Negatives: the advertised hot tub does not exist; the pool is only available by reservation, and reservations are hard to get, even though it seems hardly used at all; bathing cap required to use the pool; pool was not warm at all; the beds are so old and creaky we had to change rooms to find a bed we could possibly sleep in; the lamps by the bed did not work; the breakfast was very disappointing - choices were ok, but the hot items were barely warm (ever had cold french fries or cold mercimek?), and the coffee machine was not working properly; the bathroom had issues - toilet was not affixed to the floor, the shower head barely attached to the wall, a cracked sink... So, good staff, clean, and good location, but specifically booked because of the advertised hot tub and breakfast, both of which were not as promised.

Very elegant hotel located conveniently near the Maltepe Station, so you can walk underground through the metro station or take the Ankaray line to Asti if taking a bus. Breakfast was good, with lots of fruits and cheeses, hot foods, etc. The staff were very kind. The room we stayed in had a view of the Anitkabir Monument. We would stay here again.

It was not good The bath drain was almost blocked Some of the employees were not nice and almost disrespectful, The hotel level shouldn’t be 4 stars There is no auto park as mentioned in the website.

The good: 1.). walking distance from the central train station 2.) Very charming and clean and affordable accommodations. 3.) Superb and accommodating staff. The bad: 1.) Google earth directions will take you for a 1km walk to an erroneous site. 2.) they don't serve alcohol in their restaurant. And 3.) nearly everyone in Turkey smokes and the hallway (and my room) filled with cigarette smoke at 2am. Won't return to a hotel that won't serve wine with dinner (a personal choice not affecting anyone, yet allows people to smoke which stinks up the whole facility. I would like to say that the staff was absolutely accommodating to a weary traveler, but I wouldn't choose Ilci again.

The hotel does meet all that's been listed on the booking information and facilities. Hotel is very clean and very friendly staff, Particularly Mr Mirach. He is very professional, helpful, well mannered and well spoken English language. I stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the breakfast each morning and used the facilities of Sauna, Hamam and the indoor swimming pool. Above all, the hotels is good value for money. I would definitely recommend it!

Location was very convenient, 5min walk underground road almost directly from Ankara railway station.

I booked online because it had a gym. When I arrived I was told the gym.was.being refurbished. I had booked a non-smoking room, but I was given a room which clearly was a smoking room. I asked to change rooms and was told the hotel was full. Breakfast very disappointing. Only plus point was it was close to Metro.

The hotel is about a 15 minute walk into the centre of Ankara, on a tree lined road. From the outside the facade is ornate and has a Turkish flourish. At night it is lit beautifully and calls a welcome to you. The decor inside too has aspirations above its station. Maybe some may say it’s a little too dated, but I loved the hotel and it’s character. The staff were attentive and friendly. The room I stayed in was at the rear and very quiet. It was not a huge room but adequate and the shower was large with the bathroom good overall. Breakfast is excellent. A variety of Turkish dishes ( no European cereals) and plentiful. The staff again are welcoming and friendly. I rated the breakfast highly. The cleanliness is always important to me and I had no doubts about this hotels standards. The bed linen was white and fresh and the beds very comfortable. Complimentary toiletries are proved. The tv has only Turkish stations. Nothing in English. Not even a news channel, but the majority if the guests appeared to be Turkish, so maybe the hotel attracts business type guests. I found the hotel great value. It offered me a convinient location not too far from the centre with a metro station one minute away outside that is only two stops from Kizilay. Perfect. Would I stay again? Undoubtably. I enjoyed my stay very much.
