More about hotels in Entebbe
About Entebbe accommodation
Entebbe sits on a peninsula on Lake Victoria, home to Uganda's only international airport and the natural first and last stop for almost every visitor to the country. Despite the airport traffic, it's a genuinely relaxing town in its own right — leafy, colonial-era streets, calm lake views, and a slower pace than Kampala just 40km up the road.
Beyond the airport, Entebbe has real attractions worth a day or two: the Entebbe Botanical Gardens (established in 1898, popular with birdwatchers), the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, a rescue and rehabilitation zoo home to lions, chimpanzees and crocodiles, and boat trips out to Lake Victoria's islands, including the Ngamba Island chimpanzee sanctuary.
Where to Stay in Entebbe
Imperial Botanical Beach Hotel and Anderita Beach Hotel both offer lakeside settings close to the botanical gardens. Protea Hotel by Marriott Entebbe is a reliable international-standard choice, while Best Western Premier Garden Hotel Entebbe rounds out the options for travellers wanting a well-known brand.
Entebbe works well as a relaxed base before or after exploring the rest of Uganda, with most of its own sights easily reached on foot or by short taxi ride.
