Cambria Hotel Downtown-Center City

Great stay except for problem with elevator / door key that front desk agent did not believe I had a problem. Finally took me to elevator and realized there was a problem. Finally te-keyed and all worked.

The location is great and the room was pretty spacious, however...We arrived very late, around 12:30 am, but we had let the hotel know about this late arrival. Right off the bat, there were issues with the room keys, someone had to let us in the room (issues even with master key) and then get the key cards for us. We noticed that the cover was off the HVAC unit, but we were tired and went to bed. Next morning, we told the desk about the maintenance issue. That was fixed, but we kept mentioning that the AC was not working; the room temp would hover in the upper 70s. It was never addressed. At one point, the head of housekeeping stopped by our room and was surprised to see us there. He said the system had the room listed as empty and not to be used, pending maintenance, i.e. the HVAC. So, we never had our issues addressed plus no room service, so we scrounged toilet paper from the housekeeper when we saw her on the floor. To top it off, Cambria has a bot sending text messages, asking if we needed assistance and I responded with our issues, but nothing was addressed. But we had a great time in Philly, so the city won, but the hotel was a thumbs down. The staff were friendly, but somehow, our needs were ignored, so I'm blaming poor management. Also, breakfast is expensive. We have other favorite hotels in Philly, usually visiting 2-4 times per year, but we decided to give this one a try. But we do not recommend it and will be staying elsewhere on future trips.

They were able to get me in my room a few hours before check-in. Awesome!

Everything was wonderful

I’ve stayed at the Cambria numerous times but I definitely feel like the quality of the cambria has been lacking recently. Check in took a long time because the credit card machine was not working. Room was clean but definitely noticed a lot of wear and tear with the rooms appliances (i.e. stains/rips on the headboard of the bed, stains in the toilet, etc). The elevator was terrible during our stay unfortunately due to the rooftop. Although they say they have only one elevator allocated for the rooftop the hotel still shut down one of the elevators for regular room access which was really annoying to wait for in a crowd of yelling college students. I hope things will be better if I plan on staying here again

There was a young man that helped me with my luggage that was particularly helpful and insightful about where I should eat or go in the few hours I had in Philly. I can not remember his name but he was working when I arrived at 3:00 on Wednesday April 22 and left on April 23 around 10:00. He was tall, thin built, black with perfectly smooth shortish dread locks and a beautiful smile. Apologies for not remembering his name. For me it was a long musical name.....anyway he deserves a raise, or gold star or something for the kind way he went above and beyond being courtesy.

Nice property

The property is clean and staff are amazing. My room’s septic tank was not fully functional during my stay.

Walkable to convention center, eating, and sites. Noisy, but understandable in a city. strange setup in the room (bed faces window and TV was on side wall), but overall clean and fine for our weekend stay.

Friendly and helpful staff. Allowed us to check in early with kids which was amazing.

Right in the middle of everything. It’s a beautiful area. Very busy street. Parking was pricey but there was plenty of parking facilities in the area.
